[Bug 357201] [NEW] package pulseaudio 1:0.9.14-0ubuntu16 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

2009-04-07 Thread Mark Nevill
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

/etc/init.d/pulseaudio contains the line
start-stop-daemon -p $PIDFILE --stop --retry TERM/3 --oknodo || status=$?
the || results in status only begin set when its non-0 -> log_end_msg exists
with status 1 -> script "fails" -> update "fails". the correct version is
simply to move "status=$?" onto a new line or use ";" instead of "||".

$ lsb_release -rd

I also got this in 9.10. Seems very out of the blue, probably hard to
duplicate.

[Bug 363361] Re: Lock screen dialogue freezes on correct password

2009-07-25 Thread Mark Nevill
I had this issue but it seems to be working now. Current version of
gnome-screensaver: 2.27.0-0ubuntu3. I do not know which version fixed
the issue, as I disabled automatic screen locking as a temporary
workaround.

the computer doesn't actually turn off.

[Bug 420700] Re: Notifications appearing in the wrong position

2009-08-29 Thread Mark Nevill
Looking through the notify-osd source, it seems this is an
*enhancement*, identified with PLACEMENT_NEW in the source, and set in
bubble_new() with no way of changing it. How is having bubbles appear in
the middle of nowhere an improvement?

[Bug 332332] Re: mpd won't properly install untill localhost changed to 127.0.0.1 in /etc/mpd.conf

2011-01-10 Thread Mark Nevill
This Bug is *still* present in Ubuntu Lucid (mpd 0.15.4-1ubuntu3).

@Fabián: The recommendation is problematic, as it will allow remote
users to control your mpd. Do *NOT* set your bind_to_address to "any"
unless you know what you are doing.
