[Bug 310035] Re: ADSL connection dropping when using Deluge or Transmission
I'm having the same problem, my ADSL connection drops when uploading at full speed over pppoe (including torrents). Downloading works fine and the connection never drops, while on Windows both downloading / uploading work fine. The difference I've noticed between Windows & Ubuntu 9.04 was the upload speed. While on Windows was about 1.5MB/s, on Ubuntu it was about 4-5 MB/s (till the connection dropped, at most 2-3 minutes). I've tried changing MTU & MRU from 1492 to 1400 for ppp0, disabling multicast for ppp0 & eth0 - the issue still occured. After many hours, I found quite a strange solution, since eth0 has auto-negotiation and it seems to work well (it finds a 100Mb/s full-duplex connection). However, this solved the issue: "sudo ethtool -s eth0 autoneg off speed 100 duplex full". So, "ethtool eth0" shows me the same configuration when using autoneg on / off, but when it's off the upload speed is limited to about 1.5MB/s as in Windows and it doesn't disconnect. On the other issue, my Network Manager reconnects itself, but you have to check if the ADSL connection has the auto-reconnect checkbox checked. I have two connections, the dhcp which is not checked to reconnect and the ADSL one which is checked. Look in the configuration files: "/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/*" for "autoconnect=true" ** Attachment added: "daemon.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/30984640/daemon.log -- ADSL connection dropping when using Deluge or Transmission https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310035 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 747338] [NEW] LiveCD should have a "safe graphics" option
Public bug reported: Especially on nVidia cards, the default nouveau driver may not work and the user would have to add a nouveau fake parameter at boot options in order to crash the driver. It would be much better, especially for unexperienced Ubuntu users, to have an easy option to boot with safe graphics. For instance I filled the nouveau bug #564572 on april 2010 and it hasn't been fixed. A new Ubuntu user would probably just give up because it doesn't work. The live session should either have a "safe graphics" or an automatic blacklist of nouveau for a certain graphic cards that have known critical bugs. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: natty ** Package changed: ubuntu => xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) ** Also affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/747338 Title: LiveCD should have a "safe graphics" option -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 732677] Re: bcmwl 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu2 not work on BCM4311
Thanks, Gabriel. It's a much better solution. You can also lock the version it in synaptic, so it doesn't update with the regular updates. I think the driver should be reverted to the old version until this bug is solved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/732677 Title: bcmwl 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu2 not work on BCM4311 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 732677] Re: bcmwl 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu2 not work on BCM4311
I tried upgrading to the new driver and issued: $ rmmod b44 $ rmmod ssb $ rmmod wl $ modprobe wl - No errors, but wl didn't work. Then I removed the driver, installed the old one and issued the exact command sequence as above. It worked. My blacklist-bcm43.conf wasn't modified when upgrading the driver and it did contain the two lines Daniel was talking about.

Daniel, the solution from #17 doesn't work either. I guess generating new boot ramfs is just to make the changes permanent? I tried anyway and no positive result.
[Bug 564572] Re: no image when booting with GeForce 8400M
A simple solution to this bug has been posted on nouveau's bug tracker. Maybe it could be included in the final release? Using one of the two options "nouveau.uscript_lvds=0x0100" or "nouveau.uscript_lvds=0x0300" solves this problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/564572 Title: no image when booting with GeForce 8400M -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
