[Bug 332421] Re: KDE 4.2 (kwin) causes a segfault in X

2009-02-21 Thread Marius Kruger
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important
for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn
more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a
bug in kdebase.
For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications
have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the
Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are
having an issue. You can learn more about this feature at

Kuser is the only working user manager I could quickly find for ubuntu

[Bug 1070769] [NEW] proposed package freezes 16.0.1+build1-0ubuntu2

2012-10-24 Thread Marius Kruger
Public bug reported:

I've been trying to use the proposed package: 16.0.1+build1-0ubuntu2 (quantal
64bit)
but it freezes very often: sometimes right after startup, but I think it is
related to making external connections.
After disabling the sync on startup for my accounts I used to get further, but
now even that doesn't help any more.
After downgrading to 16.0.1+build1-0ubuntu1 I seem to be able to open it again
and receive and read my mail.
Accepting an invite still crashes completely.
(BTW. the whole precise cycle I had to downgrade my thunderbird to the original
release package in order for imap to work)

I realize I don't have much info to help, but I thought at lease you
will appreciate some feedback on the proposed package being unusable. If
I should have sent this feedback to another forum please let me know.

[Bug 1018807] [NEW] imap stopped working with new thunderbird package

2012-06-28 Thread Marius Kruger
Public bug reported:

After the latest thunderbird upgrade on 12.04 things like imap stopped working.
>From my logs it looks like a tunderbird upgrade from
>12.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 to 13.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 .
If I use synaptic to force the version back to 11.0... (precise) then
everything works again.

Symptoms:
1) It seems that it can't connect to my imap servers anymore gmail and company
mail
2) It keeps on asking for my password for my gmail calendar and does not seem
to be able to use the password store any more.

I tried to disable ipv6 to see if that helped, but no it didn't.

There are other errors too, but the above error appears so rapidly that I can't

[Bug 1070769] Re: proposed package freezes 16.0.1+build1-0ubuntu2

2012-11-13 Thread Marius Kruger
I honestly believed the behaviour got much worse in the proposed package.
Since thunderbird kept on freezing right after initiating any online activity
(sync imap or rss) and going online, I was forced to try out evilution again.
It seemed to work great until I discovered after a week that it was not sending
out any email :(
I decided to give thunderbird-next a try and it works great so far i.e no
freezes and I'm able to send/receive mail and read rss:
17.0~b2+build1-0ubuntu0.12.10.1~mtn1

[Bug 930031] Re: Allow launcher icons smaller than 32px

2012-12-11 Thread Marius Kruger
The main reason it seems from bug 713087 comment 14 is "because below 32 px,
progress bar and counter appear wrong!"
I feel there must be something that can be done to make this work even if the
progress bar has to hang over the launcher in the rare cases that it is visible.

[Bug 1070769] Re: thunderbird 16.0.1x freezes on network io

2012-11-16 Thread Marius Kruger
Reverted back to 17.0~b3+build1-0ubuntu0.12.10.1~mtn1 but this was broken too
now.
Then I ran it with -safe-mode which worked fine, so I disabled all the plugins.
16.0.2+build1-0ubuntu0.12.10.1 worked fine now too and I subsequently enabled
all my extensions again and added the global menu plugin and it still seems
fine.
I'll close this now as the root of the problem seems extensions related.
Sorry for the noise.

I'm having the same frustration. Did this work for you in 10.10?
I tried to reproduce it in the classic with effects mode, but there I can't

I'm a kde user that would love to switch to unity, in kde land this is called
"Invert" and it works beautifully in 10.10 and 11.04 .

[Bug 315932] Re: [PATCH] Add desktop notification of completed commands

2010-08-05 Thread Marius Kruger
I think this should be automatic i.e. you shouldn't have to remember to add a
;alert , because most of the times you would need this you would only realize
it after you ran the command.
This needn't be the default behavior, but could for example be activated by a
configuration option in Konsole.
