[Bug 1368647] Re: GPS and location detection not working on Nexus 4
I have Nexus 4 with latest radio, yesterday I flashed the phone with bq- aquaris.en channel and it was not working. Maybe it would get the location eventually but if no location is acquired after 5 minutes, I consider it not working. I'm very much interested in knowing if anyone from Ubuntu team is working on resolving this issue. [Bug 1641244] [NEW] Ubuntu 16.04 suspend works only twice or thrice in a row
Public bug reported: This problem was introduced with Ubuntu 16.04 or rather with kernel 4.4; I never had this problem on Ubuntu 14.04 and kernels from 3.x line. Suspend works only twice in a row, sometimes three times, the next attempt of suspending results in basically dead machine but system fans are spinning, monitor back light is on etc. My problem is similar to #1634446, #1566302, #1574125, symptoms are basically the same. I tried more recent kernels: 4.6, 4.8, but its all the same. The problem existed after upgrading my system from 14.04 to 16.04 and after fresh installation of 16.04. If I recall correctly the problem existed with proprietary graphic drivers (nvidia-367 for my GTX770) and for default open source graphic drivers. I have an encrypted home partition, 8GB or RAM and 16GB swap partition. [Bug 1641244] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 suspend works only twice or thrice in a row, freezes at next attempt
Unfortunately the bug exists on the newest mainline kernel. It was hard to test because it made my system very unstable (which is expected) and I had trouble to get couple straight wake-ups from suspend to be able to tell if it freezes like it did before. But it did freeze on third or fourth attempt of suspending like on default kernel. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1641244 Title: Ubuntu 16.04 suspend works only twice or thrice in a row, freezes at next attempt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1641244/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1641244] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 suspend works only twice or thrice in a row, freezes at next attempt
I installed the latest 4.9 kernel (4.9.0-040900-generic #201612111631) and tested both default open source nouveau driver and proprietary nvidia-367 driver. Unfortunately problem still persists but now I can do three successful suspends instead of two :)) I think my only way to get rid of this issue is to upgrade to newer motherboard... The current is quite old. Maybe I'll do another test with new Ubuntu (let's say 17.04 daily build) on another drive without encrypted home folder and see if there is the same problem. [Bug 1641244] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 suspend works only twice or thrice in a row, freezes at next attempt
I had too many problems with kernel 4.10 to be able to test this, so I just let this report expire. Anyway, I kinda gave up with investigation. One thing I discovered, and this is to people who may be reading this and looking for a solution, was that suspend with 'sudo acpitool -s' command was working very good! So I just edited my systemd- suspend.service file and modified ExecStart line to look like this: ExecStart=/usr/bin/acpitool -s and thats it. Suspend is now working as it should be. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1641244 Title: Ubuntu 16.04 suspend works only twice or thrice in a row, freezes at next attempt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1641244/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1447600] Re: 15.04 installer hangs in partitioner during something else
Ok I tried to install 15.04 x64 and 15.10 x64 for two days without success. Then I started looking for similar problem and landed at this bug report. I had clean HDD without any partitions, used .iso images installed on pendrives by USB universal installer, unetbootin or that default ubuntu tool, same result everywhere. No error alert, no nothing, installation is not moving forward after I enter the password for full-system encryption. Then I tried solution #17 by Uwe Geuder and it worked (thanks!). In my case I had to do this: [installation didn't move after I wrote down full-system encryption password] 1. go to virtual console 2 2. search for mkfs process (for me it was 'mkfs.ext2 /dev/sda1') 3. sudo kill -9 pid of that process 4. execute the same command: sudo mkfs.ext2 /dev/sda1 [had to confirm y/n] 5. go back to gui by ctrl+alt+F7 6. kill ubiquity process [freezed installation] 7. start new installation which is basically 1:1 #17 solution and I successfully completed installation. Don't know when the problem lays. I can reproduce it easily, but there seems to be no errors to collect from logs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1447600 Title: 15.04 installer hangs in partitioner during something else To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1447600/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 804090] Re: When battery is 100%, power unplugging doesn't result in battery icon change - Fujitsu Amilo Pi3560
** Description changed: Hello, sorry for bother, but I have to report this. The problem is wrong battery status in specific circumstances on my laptop Fujitsu Amilo Pi3560. When battery is fully charged and I unplug the power (or when I start system without power, but with full battery), then nothing happens and battery icon is showing "Fully charged" till battery is empty . Even if I click on power preferences, it shows 100% battery. The only way to find out that there is no power plugged, is battery light in my laptop (it turns red when battery is close to die). But Ubuntu doesn't know that at all, it still thinks that battery is 100%, even after 3 hours. - The problem is present in Ubuntu 11.04 but I did notice it also in the - past in Ubuntu 10.04. + The problem is present in Ubuntu 12.04 but I did notice it also in the + past in Ubuntu 10.04, 10.10, 11.04, 11.10. Maybe it will be clearer if I write down what and when happens. Here comes the different scenarios: 1. Battery is not fully charged 1.1. I turn my laptop on with plugged power 1.1.1. Icon is showing "charging" - that's OK 1.1.2. When I unplug the power, icon changes to "discharging", notify comes out - that's OK 1.1.3. Icon is showing "discharging" - that's OK 1.2.2. When I plug the power, icon changes to "charging", no notify - that's OK The problems starts here... 2. Battery is fully charged 2.1. I turn my laptop on with plugged power 2.1.1. Icon is showing "charged" - that's OK 2.1.2. When I uplug the power, nothing happens (no icon change, no notify) - that's NOT OK 2.1.3.1. When I plug the power back soon after 2.1.2., nothing happens (no icon change, no notify) - that's NOT OK 2.1.3.2. But when I plug the power back after some time (let the battery to discharge a little), icon changes to "discharging", notify comes out, but right after a second or two, icon changes to "charging", no notify - that's QUASI-OK (why "discharging" in the first place?!) 2.2. I turn my laptop on with unplugged power 2.2.1. Icon is showing "charged" - that's NOT OK 2.2.2. Wait some time, for instance 0.4h (let the battery to discharge a little) 2.2.3. When I plug the power, icon changes to "discharging", notify comes out, but right after a second or two, icon changes to "charging", no notify - that's QUASI-OK (why "discharging" in the first place?!)
