[Bug 1026058] Re: Applications Menu .desktop item with category Electronics creates an uneditable sub-menu Electronics
This bug has been resolved in Xubuntu 12.10, xfce-panel 4.10.0; however, for the record, I've attached the desktop file, which was causing the problem. ** Attachment added: "arduino.desktop" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-panel/+bug/1026058/+attachment/3416792/+files/arduino.desktop -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1026058 Title: Applications Menu .desktop item with category Electronics creates an uneditable sub-menu Electronics To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-panel/+bug/1026058/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1026058] Re: Applications Menu .desktop item with category Electronics creates an uneditable sub-menu Electronics
Actually, I've just had another look and this bug is still reproducible; however it highlights another problem: If you delete all the files in ~/.config/menus and ~/.local/share/applications running the menu editor and making any change will create a new ~/.config/menus/applications.menu file with the changes, but these changes are reversed or rather ignored, because the filename is wrong. Manually renaming ~/.config/menus/applications.menu to xfce-applications.menu results in the changes being applied, but now the submenu Electronics doesn't appear in the menu editor, so a Desktop file with Category Electronics, as for example the one attached in my previous post, cannot, for example, be removed from the Electronics submenu. Note, you can manually copy and edit a desktop file in ~/.local/share/applications (delete the Electonics entry under Categories) to remove it from the Electronics submenu. BTW: If you click the help button on the menu editor you get a Document Not Found: The URI ‘ghelp:user-guide?menu-editor#menu-editor’ does not point to a valid page. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1026058 Title: Applications Menu .desktop item with category Electronics creates an uneditable sub-menu Electronics To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-panel/+bug/1026058/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

When I clicked yes, I got an error message: /usr/share/netbeans/6.9/etc/netbeans.import (No such file or directory) java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/share/netbeans/6.9/etc/netbeans.import (No such file or directory). When I click OK. Netbeans starts, but my settings have not been imported. Restarting Netbeans does not prompt me again. [Bug 662055] [NEW] Evolution 2.30.3 calendar hangs
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution After upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 and Evolution 2.30.3, when trying to view the calendar Evolution hangs (is unresponsive for several minutes), when control does return none of the calendar entries are displayed. [Bug 662055] Re: Evolution 2.30.3 calendar hangs
This problem has stopped occurring; so I assume there is little point in doing a backtrace. I think it might have been related to a problem with the Exchange connector, which I've logged separately (662072), because deleting and recreating the Exchange connection appears to have brought my calendar back (but I still cannot access my Exchange mailbox). If the problem comes back, I'll do a backtrace and update this bug. -- Evolution 2.30.3 calendar hangs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662055 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 615881] [NEW] Busy application can hang all windows
Public bug reported: A busy application can hang all the other windows; so it's impossible to do anything including closing the busy application; although I am still able to login into another terminal on the same machine. I've been able to reproduce this problem on Mandriva; so it's not specific to Ubuntu, but I'm reporting it here, because my main system is Ubuntu. I've created a simple java application to demonstrate this problem: import java.awt.EventQueue; import javax.swing.*; public class Hang { public static void main(String[] args) { JFrame frame = new JFrame(); final JComboBox comboBox = new JComboBox(); comboBox.insertItemAt(1, 0); frame.add(comboBox); frame.pack(); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); frame.setVisible(true); while (true) EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { comboBox.showPopup(); } }); } } I've reproduced this problem with both the Sun and Open versions of the JDK and JRE. I can reproduce the problem with both Gnome and KDE, but I'm not able to reproduce it on a Microsoft Windows machine so I'm assuming it's not a Java specific issue, but even if it was, a JVM shouldn't be able to hang all other windows. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Busy application can hang all windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/615881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
