[Bug 1768003] [NEW] nvidia-prime is no longer able to turn off the discrete GPU

2018-04-30 Thread Mar-castelluccio
Public bug reported:

Since updating to Ubuntu 18.04 from 17.10, the discrete GPU is no longer
turned off.

I see since https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-
prime/+bug/1757180 the way to turn off the discrete GPU has been
changed, I suppose that's what caused the regression.

My laptop is a ThinkPad W541, with a NVIDIA Quadro K2100M.

[Bug 738288] Re: Add window list to Launcher icon menu

2012-05-20 Thread Mar-castelluccio
I don't like the "mockup" of comment #2.
Unity should keep showing window previews, but in a different way. Windows 7
behaviour is a lot better here.
The mockup in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/740862/comments/3 is a lot
better.

[Bug 871325] [NEW] Implement Unity Launcher API in Firefox for downloads' progress and quicklist

2011-10-09 Thread Mar-castelluccio

In Ubuntu, Firefox should use the Unity Launcher API to show progress of the

Could you integrate the extension in Firefox by default?

[Bug 871325] Re: Implement Unity Launcher API in Firefox for downloads' progress and quicklist

2011-10-09 Thread Mar-castelluccio
I've seen that the desktop file in /usr/share/applications contains the "New
Window" shortcut, so the problem is only the downloads' progress bar.
There are two choices: integrate the UnityFox extension (maybe doing a unique
extension with firefox-globalmenu) or use Unity Launcher API in Firefox itself.

[Bug 1053733] [NEW] In the Window Spread, the title of the application hides the top part of the window

2012-09-20 Thread Mar-castelluccio
Public bug reported:

The top part of the window is the most important (for example there are
the tabs of a tabbed application), can't you show the title on the
bottom of the window? Or above the window without overlapping (I mean
like the normal title bars)?

Also, is it possible to show all the windows titles without having to
move the mouse?

Also, is it possible to make the windows previews be always in the same
position? Every time you switch to another window, all the windows
change position in the Spread and so it's difficult to know which
windows you've already opened (this is important when you don't remember
what are the contents of the windows and want to search throughout the
windows, you have to open every window because the previews have a
really poor quality).

[Bug 1184371] [NEW] Undefined symbol in libgsl

2013-05-26 Thread Mar-castelluccio
Public bug reported:

I'm trying to use MLPY (a Python library for machine learning), that
uses the GSL library.

MLPY fails to import GSL because of this error:
/usr/lib/libgsl.so.0: undefined symbol: cblas_dasum

That symbol should be in libgslcblas.so, that is included in the packet
libgsl0ldbl (that is the same packet that contains libgsl.so).

Note that I've installed MLPY from source, because the library included
in the repositories is pretty old.

I don't know if the library can be used if it isn't so stable (and I
don't know who should decide about this matter). In case it can be used,

[Bug 723862] Re: Natuilus quicklist does not contain the locations previously found under the 'Places' menu.

2011-10-26 Thread Mar-castelluccio
I don't see this menu.
However it's different from the problem of the bug, because if you have other
applications opened, it's really slow to go to the desktop to open new windows.

[Bug 740862] Re: Please add list of running windows of an app, to its launcher icon

2011-10-14 Thread Mar-castelluccio
I think this bug is really important.
Using an application with many windows open (like the browser) is really awful
with current Unity.
You could also show small previews or the list when hovering (and not clicking)
on the icon, so you'll save even more time.

[Bug 734253] Re: very hard to distinguish/select text documents in the expose window spread

2011-10-14 Thread Mar-castelluccio
I've tried the solution of comment #11, however scaling windows is
really slow with those plugins enabled (NVIDIA GT230 with proprietary
drivers).

[Bug 874509] Re: Improve windows' preview quality

2011-10-15 Thread Mar-castelluccio
I've attached a screenshot. It's difficult to understand the windows'
content. So it's difficult to go to the window you need.

[Bug 741046] Re: [UIFe] Please add unity quicklist item for 'new window' and maybe 'new tab'

2011-10-19 Thread Mar-castelluccio
I don't see the quicklist in Oneiric, maybe because I've updated from
Natty?

[Bug 871325] Re: Implement Unity Launcher API in Firefox for downloads' progress and quicklist

2011-10-19 Thread Mar-castelluccio
Do you plan to solve this bug? Will you integrate the UnityFox extension?
(possibly an unique extension with firefox-globalmenu)
Or do you think this is a problem of Firefox that should be solved by Firefox?

The UnMHT extension does this work, can we integrate it into Firefox?
