[Bug 54509] menu disappears after clicking "edit menu"

2006-07-29 Thread Maciej Powalowski
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfce4

AMD64 xubuntu.
1. Click on "Applications" menu button
2. Go to "Edit menu" and click
3. That's it, the whole menu is gone (exept the panel button).

I chuckled to read "menu unexpectedly removed" in one of the logs.
Can't really do much now - lucky there's a Firefox button on the panel, so I
can report this at least. No idea how to get the menu back; I'm done for,
aaargh! Help.

** Affects: xfce4 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 72381] Add/remove cannot install Opera web browser

2006-11-18 Thread Maciej Powalowski
Public bug reported:

"With a few easy clicks from the Ubuntu desktop, all Ubuntu 6.06 LTS
users can install Opera 9," said Malcolm Yates, Partner and ISV Manager
at Canonical Ltd.

Unfortunately, trying to reproduce the hint at
http://www.ubuntu.com/news/opera9?highlight=%28opera%29
i.e. using the Add/Remove item in the Applications menu does not get me through
the "add the channel" step. Every time I click the ADD CHANNEL button it goes
back to the same pop-up.

I use AMD64 Dapper Drake - I understand it comprises the "all users"
quote.

[Bug 72381] Add/remove cannot install Opera web browser continued

2006-11-23 Thread Maciej Powalowski
So have I, but can you actually add it? 'Cos that's where the trouble starts.
The "show commercial applications" box IS checked and Opera DOES show up on the
list,
but every time I try to check the box next to it (i.e. add it), a message pops
up telling me to add the channel, so I press the "add channel" button and the
window pops up again and again, round and round the watchtower. And yes, I have
run update manager recently.

Have you tried to add it though? 'Cos that's when it all fails.

Yes, I have run update manager recently.

Yes, the "show commercial applications" box IS checked
and Opera DOES show up in the list,
but every time I try to check the box to istall it,
a message pops up telling me to add the channel, so I press the "add channel"
button
and the window pops up again and again,
round and round the watchtower.

[Bug 859511] [NEW] package linux-image-2.6.32-34-generic 2.6.32-34.77 failed to install/upgrade: podproces zainstalowany skrypt post-installation zwrócił kod błędu 17

2011-09-26 Thread Maciej Powalowski
Public bug reported:

This occurred while using the update manager. The manager suggested 10
updates of which none where security updates. I pressed the "update"
button and the update stalled on the linux-image-2.6.32-34-generic
2.6.32-34.77 package informing me about a post-install error no. 17.
What I noticed, is that probably the whole update was a kind of bug,
because the manager was trying to update packages to their present
versions (eg. the "old" and "new" version of Opera had exactly the same
numbers (11.51 1087). So if My guess is correct, the update failed on
the kernel package, as I had removed the previous (i.e. 2.6.32-34.76)
version after a successful update last week. A bit disappointing in an
LTS release.
