Hello. I am using Kubuntu Jaunty and I encountered this error a moment ago. I used my laptop with external display before (twinview) and now i started it without 2nd display. So it seems that ixp4xx is no longer supported in karmic (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian- installer/+bug/392238).
