[Bug 320787] Re: package openoffice.org-voikko 2.1-1build2 failed to install/upgrade:
I believe it was installed by default. During the upgrade, I noticed the installer spent a lot of time working with a lot of different language packs. If I'm not mistaken, a CD install of Ubuntu usually deletes those language packs. I did not do the updates first. I thought it would save time, since I'd be downloading almost all the same packages again for the upgrade. If that's not supported, maybe the update manager should require all updates to be done first. Upgrading is pretty self-explanatory in other respects, so I never would've thought to look at the documentation. -- package openoffice.org-voikko 2.1-1build2 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/320787 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 312346] [NEW] Shared directory doesn't become availible on network on startup
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 8.10 Package: I don't know if this is a Gnome problem, but I'm using Gnome 2.24.1. apt-cache and Synaptic both claim that Gnome is not installed, whatever that means. I used the file browser to make my ~/Public directory available through the router to my roommate's computer, which also runs Ubuntu 8.10. When I first set it up, I was able to upload a file to his computer. Expectation: Any time my computer is on, the directory should automatically be available on the network. What actually happened: If I restart my computer, the directory is no longer on the network. When I go to Places>Home Folder, the Public directory no longer shows the hand icon in the upper right corner. I right-click on it and choose Sharing Options. The "Share this folder" box is still checked. Workaround: If turn off sharing for that folder, then turn it back on again, it seems to work normally. I would guess it's a problem with setting up shared directories at boot time. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Shared directory doesn't become availible on network on startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312346 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1168801] [NEW] Broken dependency, unable to update or install packages
NOTE: Today, 'apt-get -f install' gave me different results. It upgraded 'python3 python3-dev python3-minimal' instead of trying to uninstall apparently everything that depends on python3. My current problem seems to be fixed, but I don't know the bug that caused it. I got the same error message from the following commands: sudo apt-get install libncurses5-dev sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get upgrade python3=3.2.3-5ubuntu1.1 I also got a similar error from the Update Manager, which was trying to update python3 and python3-minimal, among others. > > You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these: > > The following packages have unmet dependencies: > > python3 : Depends: python3-minimal (= 3.2.3-5ubuntu1) but 3.2.3-5ubuntu1.1 > > is to be installed > > python3-dev : Depends: python3 (= 3.2.3-5ubuntu1.1) but 3.2.3-5ubuntu1 is > > to be installed > > E: Unmet dependencies. [Bug 1006131] [NEW] GRUB2 doesn't boot OSX Partition after update (solved!)
Public bug reported: After repartitioning my MBR formatted, multiboot HD GRUB would not boot my OSX partitions. My screen only shows "Error: Drive not found Error: file not found". I manages to boot into the partition with SuperGrub2disk and OSX Boot disks. By "try and error" I found out that there is something wrong in the OS-Prober script. The boot loader did try to look for a "sleepimage" file on the partition in the wrong place. the path in the prober-script was "/var/vm/sleepimage", but the file is located on the OSX partition in "private/var/vm/sleepimage" (OS X 10.6.8). Changing the path in grub.cfg and under /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober to the above was my answer. At last, I don't know if the bug does rather affect GRUB2 than os-prober (with finds all my OS correctly), but I hope that someone can change this.
