[Bug 956812] [NEW] Ambiance window decorations lack the "hover" effect and sometimes are shown as disabled.
Public bug reported: Window decorations buttons (close, minimize, maximize) consistently lack the subtle lightning effect when the mouse is over them. Other times the buttons are shown as disabled which is misleading since the buttons work perfectly fine. Maybe one time in a hundred I get a window exposing the correct behavior. It looks like it is totally random. Since mutter/gnome-shell does not show the same issue (with the same Ambiance theme), I presume this issue is compiz/unity specific. [Bug 1283981] [NEW] Multi-monitor: wrong screen layout in desktop wall
Public bug reported: I have configured my main screen on the left and a smaller screen to the right. However when I press +S to show all desktops I get the primary (bigger) screen on the right and the smaller on the left (see attached screenshot). The outputs are effectively swapped. This leads to the ugly effect for which I'm attaching a video. [Bug 1270555] [NEW] The Text Entry dialog shows invalid keyboard shortcuts to change layout

[Bug 1270555] Re: The Text Entry dialog shows invalid keyboard shortcuts to change layout
In between I reported the bug I installed Ubuntu GNOME on my "test" partition and did the previous test by installing the 'ubuntu-desktop' metapackage to get Unity back. For some reason it didn't pull unity- settings-daemon which wasn't installed when I ran the test. I installed it manually and confirm that layout switching with both Super+Space and Super+Shift+Space work properly if I use your PPA. [Bug 1280622] [NEW] Add gtk2-engines-murrine:i386 to Skype dependencies

Re: [Bug 1134112] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in OsAbort()
Symptoms are the same as bug 982889. It happens like once every three/four boots and I have to restart lightdm manually. [Bug 964146] Re: [workaround] Application lens is empty since the update to 5.8.0
Short story: I think unity-lens-applications should Depend (not Recommend or Suggest) zeitgeist OR zeitgeist-core for installation. On some system the zeitgeist daemon may not be installed, thus causing the lens to malfunction. Long story: I have configured APT to prevent installation of soft-dependencies (Recommended and Suggested dependencies) like this: APT::Install-Recommends "0"; APT::Install-Suggests "0"; Apt::AutoRemove::RecommendsImportant "0"; Apt::AutoRemove::SuggestsImportant "0"; Now, unity-lens-applications depends on libzeitgeist which in turn Recommends zeitgeist OR zeitgeist-core. Since it is a Recommended package it is not installed on my system, thus the zeitgeist daemon is not started. I had to manually install at least zeitgeist-core, then restart unity- applications-daemon to have it spawn the zeitgeist daemon. After that, the lens worked as before. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/964146 Title: [workaround] Application lens is empty since the update to 5.8.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-lens-applications/+bug/964146/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 964146] Re: [workaround] Application lens is empty since the update to 5.8.0
By the way, this issue also affects unity-lens-files, which also depends on libzeitgeist but doesn't bring in the zeitgeist daemon in case installation of weak-dependencies is disabled.
[Bug 964146] Re: [workaround] Application lens is empty since the update to 5.8.0
I would like to point out that the original bug I reported was due to zeitgeist not being installed because the lens does not hard-depend on zeitgeist-core. The issue reported by Chris Johnston (comment #4) is about zeitgeist- daemon unable to start due to a corrupted Zeitgeist database. The outcome is the same (i.e.: the lens does not work because zeitgeist- daemon is not running) but the premise is different (i.e.: zeitgeist- daemon not running because it isn't installed vs. zeitgeist-daemon is unable to start). My opinion is that we should treat these issues separately.

[Bug 882024] [NEW] Lag While Dragging Windows Around
Public bug reported: Dragging windows (and in general, everything that involves dragging) seems to lag behind relatively to cursor position. This issue is exacerbated by screen size: bigger resolutions make this issue more noticeable. I'm experiencing this behavior both in Mutter (gnome-shell) and Compiz (with or without Unity) and it happens regardless of driver choice (either the OSS radeon driver or the closed source fglrx). It didn't happen on Ubuntu 10.04. I confirm that this issue happens also on Fedora 15 with all updates installed (at least with gnome-shell since Unity is not available there). So this isn't an Ubuntu-specific bug. On Fedora 16 beta they managed to reduce the lag but I don't honestly know whether they patched the window manager or something else. I didn't test compiz there so I don't know whether it's a compiz-specific bug. I also tried a newer snapshot of xf86-video-ati (from freedesktop's git repository) driver without success.
