[Bug 1791806] Re: alsa does not detech headphone output on Clevo P651RS laptop
S/PDIF is on, like in the case of Felipe, but headphones never worked. Played around with hdajackretask and hdajacksensetest, found the output on pin 0x1b, jack insertion and removal is detected properly. Unfortunately no audio output can be routed to the re-configured pin, the only "sound" was/is a static bang consisting of a single peak whenever it is switched on/off, and some static noise like a badly isolated sound card from the 2000's picking up noises from a HDD cable running close by. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1791806 Title: alsa does not detech headphone output on Clevo P651RS laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1791806/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1791806] Re: alsa does not detech headphone output on Clevo P651RS laptop
Hi Felipe The symptoms you report are different from the one reported by me. Your are able to use the headphone output, while in my case the headphone output is not detected at all by the driver. Could you please look up the alsa initialization section in your dmesg? As stated before the issue reported in this bug is generating the following output: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0:hp_outs=0 (0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) In your case my guess is, you will see: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0:hp_outs=0 (0x1b/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) BR Lehel -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1791806 Title: alsa does not detech headphone output on Clevo P651RS laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1791806/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

** Description changed: Currently it is possible to install bumblebee package and nvidia-prime package on the same system. On 18.04 this causes a system hang: 1. at installation - 2. whenever running lspci - 3. system tries to enter graphical login (probably a process tries to execute lspci) + 2. system tries to enter graphical login. + + Observed with nvidia-390 (vanilla, and graphics drivers ppa) and + nvidia-396 drivers. + + Can not collect apport information, since with installed nvidia drivers + the system will hang when apport is being run. ** Description changed: - Currently it is possible to install bumblebee package and nvidia-prime package on the same system. - On 18.04 this causes a system hang: - 1. at installation - 2. system tries to enter graphical login. - - Observed with nvidia-390 (vanilla, and graphics drivers ppa) and - nvidia-396 drivers. - - Can not collect apport information, since with installed nvidia drivers - the system will hang when apport is being run. + Currently it is possible to install bumblebee package and nvidia-prime + package on the same system.
