[Bug 246121] [NEW] A black screen is the result of using Application Switcher to switch from an Application to Firefox 3.0 in Full Screen Mode on another Workspace.

2008-07-06 Thread Lee Jarratt
Public bug reported:

If I were to switch from one application to another on Separate
Workspace using Compiz-Fusion's Application Switcher plug-in, everything
would be fine. But I have come across a bug if I switch to Firefox in
Full Screen Mode from another application on another Workspace. A black
screen appears on Firefox 3.0 until I let go of the keys that activate
the Application Switcher.

I am running Ubuntu 8.04.1 (Hardy Heron) with the latest Development
version of Compiz-Fusion.

[Bug 330293] Re: [Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo li1818] suspend/resume problem

2009-02-17 Thread Lee Jarratt
Hello,
Suspend has never worked on my laptop. When I do click suspend, the screen
turns black and there is a flashing underscore at the top left corner of the
screen. The computer fan still goes (so I know it's working just as hard even
when this is happening) and the only way to get the machine functional again is
to turn it off by the power and and turn it back on that way.

P.S - I have been using Ubuntu since 7.10 on the same machine with
Suspend not working.

[Bug 359799] [NEW] Wireless Network Drivers applet can't detect hardware

2009-04-11 Thread Lee Jarratt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ndisgtk

Note: This bug can only be reproduced in Jaunty Jackalope (9.04).
Note: I'm using the latest version of ndisgtk (0.8.4-1)
Note: This has happened since the first few alphas but haven't got round to
reporting it until now

I install ndisgtk (using Synaptic Package Manager) so I can install my
Windows wireless driver but a dialogue appears stating "Unable to see if
hardware is present." yet once I close the dialogue box, it says it
detects my hardware and wireless driver.

The wireless driver works fine once installed, and this message still

[Bug 194541] [NEW] Advanced Desktop Settings causes major graphics slow-down

2008-03-07 Thread Lee Jarratt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

I have an intel integrated graphics 945 and an Intel Celeron M processor
and run the Compiz-Fuzion graphics great, everything seems smooth and is
capable of running all compiz effects in the Desktop Settings
application. But for some reason as soon as I check/uncheck a selection
(I don't know which options are effected), the graphics just slow down
to an unbearable rate, the only way I can get this back to normal is if
I turn off the visual effects and enabling 'Custom' again. Then
everything works fine for however long I keep the computer on, until I
check or uncheck an option from the Desktop Settings.

I am using Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon), I am using the latest version of
Compiz Advanced Desktop Settings.

2010-05-16 Thread Lee Jarratt
When this occurs, I can't click on any indicator-applets or the
"applications places system" menus. I have to switch off my laptop from
the power button as nothing else will work.

[Bug 938602] [NEW] Unstable connection when using WPA encryption with RTL8187SE Wireless LAN Controller

2012-02-22 Thread Lee Jarratt
Public bug reported:

I have done a lot of testing narrowing down this bug and I am led to
believe it is the wpasupplicant package or the driver for my wireless
card,

I had been using WPA2 encryption for my router and have suffered
frequent cut-outs in my connection, more so when another device is
downloading and connected to the same router. I had changed from WPA to
WEP and have not suffered one disconnect in my 2-3 days of using this
method.

Here is the question I asked over on Ask Ubuntu with relevant information:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/52238/wireless-keeps-cutting-out-every-several-minutes-on-a-realtek-rtl8187se

If this is wrong then I do apologise, I don't really know where to go
with this now. Many thanks for any help in advance!
