[Bug 1018555] [NEW] No audio in headphone

2012-06-27 Thread Lars Pensjö
Public bug reported:

When I connect headphones, there is no sound in them. And the sound from
the builtin lodspeakers are disabled.

The "Playback devices" shows two devices: "HDMI audio" and "Built-in
Audio". The volume control on HDM audio has no effect, and the volume
control of the "built-in audio is automatically muted when headphones
are connected. It is not possible to un-mute it.

[Bug 1018555] Re: No audio in headphone

2012-06-27 Thread Lars Pensjö
Yes, the sound in the headphones has been working (in 12.04), but no
longer. I have done updates in between, but I can't say what was
changed.

I downloaded linux 3.5.0 and did "sudo dpkg -i *.deb".

There are error messages, repeated:
ERROR (dkms apport): kernel package linux-headers-3.5.0-030500rc4-generic is
not supported
Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 3.5.0-030500rc4-generic
(i686)

[Bug 1018555] Re: No audio in headphone

2012-06-27 Thread Lars Pensjö
Testing with 3.0.0.16-generic-pae works fine!
3.2.0-25-generic-pae does not work.
3.5.0-030500rc4-generic does not work (with respect to sound in headphones). It
has the same problem as 3.2.0-25.
