[Bug 272348] [NEW] xml file with embedded stylesheet reports unknow error: 805303f4

2008-09-19 Thread LarryE
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release:8.04
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

synaptic shows firefox version as: 3.0.2+build1+nobir

I expected the browser to display:

Chapter 1. chapter_1.title

Paragraph before orderedlist. See item 2.

   1.

  ordlist_1.item_1.title

  ordlist_1.item_1.para_1

  ordlist_1.item_1.para_2
   2.

  ordlist_1.item_2.title

  ordlist_1.item_2.para_1

  ordlist_1.item_2.para_2

Paragraph after orderedlist. See item 1.

Instead, browser displayed:

xml file with embeded stylesheet like the one here:
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/xsl-list/2000-07/msg01048.html
results in browser error:

Error loading stylesheet: An unknown error has occurred (805303f4)

[Bug 580224] Re: pybridge doesn't start

2017-11-18 Thread LarryE
See:

  https://stackoverflow.com/questions/11887762/compare-version-strings-
in-python

If you do as that suggested by replacing the comparison with:

  StrictVersion(twisted.copyright.version) <
StrictVersion(TWiSTED_REQUIRED)

I think it'll work.

[Bug 1577192] Re: package gcc-doc 4:4.8.2-1ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: there is no script in the new version of the package - giving up

2016-08-04 Thread LarryE
Thank you Michael Mauch.

I just upgraded to 16.04 after being prompted to do so after
several logins, but I encountered this problem.

I was trying everything I could think of with dpkg and apt-get
to solve the poblem without success.
The error messages were saying I had to reinstall before
removing and I tried that but it didn't work.

I tried your solution and it worked beautifully!

Kudo's to Michael!

Hopefully this problem will be solved soon because I'm pretty
sure it's causing everyone with gcc-doc installed a lot
or problems upgrading to 16.04 ;(

[Bug 1609854] [NEW] package gcc-doc 4:5.3.1-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: there is no script in the new version of the package - giving up

2016-08-04 Thread LarryE
Public bug reported:

Just upgraded to ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
While upgrading, it said there was a problem with gcc-doc.
Read https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-defaults/+bug/1577192
which looked like my problem; hence, I took solution provided
by Michael Michael Mauch:

  I removed that script manually:

sudo mv /var/lib/dpkg/info/gcc-doc.prerm /tmp

and then "sudo apt install gcc-doc" worked again.

However, I guess that wasn't enough, because I logged out
and logged in, an this problem occurred.

[Bug 1577192] Re: package gcc-doc 4:4.8.2-1ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: there is no script in the new version of the package - giving up

2016-08-04 Thread LarryE
Unfortunately, after logging out (I had to use ctl-alt-f1 and then login on
console and
execute "shutdown now" for some unknown reason), then logging back in, I got
one of those
[System program problem detected] error windows and also a [Crash report].
Hence, I guess Michael's solution is not complete.

Any ideas what I should do?
