[Bug 1885711] [NEW] Wifi + Bluetooth coexistence
Public bug reported: Hi, Internet is full of this for several years and for several years for whatever reason it's not fixed in Ubuntu without any explanation. It's a problem with wifi drivers? Or it's a problem with linux bluetooth stack. Or with kernel or it's only specific to Ubuntu configuration/packaging? No answers and solution anywhere. Meanwhile i have a new desktop computer with different hardware (previously Broadcomm, now Realtek) and guess what? It's still not working in Ubuntu 20.04.. Wifi itself is working properly. Also bluetooth itself semms to work properly. But try to use both and wifi speed will drop down significantly, almost stops to something like 20-50 kb/s. Turnning off Bluetooth and it recovers to full speed. In my desktop board ASUS ROG-Strix B-450-I Gaming i have build in Wifi and Bluetooth module from Realtek. It is using kernel module rtw88 - so much i have finded out. But how to enable and get working coexistence like in Windows, good luck with that.. almost zero information on the internet, very end-user unfriedly. It's about time you start solving similar issues and closing bugreports or nobody will take your most popular distro seriously.. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1885711 Title: Wifi + Bluetooth coexistence To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1885711/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 2080843] [NEW] Audio jacks not working until restart
Public bug reported: When I disconnect my headphones from the motherboard rear jack and reconnect it to front jack on the case, audio stops working. Volume OSD slider is moving, but there is no description like it was before on "Line Out" output and audio is muted. Only thing that works is restart PipeWire service or restart computer and then is front headphone jack working again, unless i try to re-plug it. I have figured out that for this behaviour is responsible power management on Intel audio driver. Following command will turn that off and jack re-plugging work normally. sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel.conf <<< "options snd_hda_intel power_save=0" I am not sure how much power can enabled power management on audio driver save from laptop battery, i have desktop. But i am sure that this is not desired behaviour when users expect things to simply work. It may be worth considering to pre-configure by default Intel audio driver with power saving disabled. ** Affects: pipewire (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: audio noble power-management ** Tags added: audio noble power-management -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2080843 Title: Audio jacks not working until restart To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pipewire/+bug/2080843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

To be fair, maybe this is not even a bug. Maybe it's a configuration thing of intel audio driver or maybe PipeWire is triggering power management when no device is plugged? [Bug 2080243] [NEW] Pipewire translations missing
Public bug reported: Pipewire in Ubuntu is missing translation files. Result is that default audio outputs are not localized in regional language on non-english system. For example, rear output on motherboard says "Line Out" when adjusting volume. When using motherboard front headphone output, it says "Headphones" in english. When using PipeWire/Wireplubmber Upstream packages from these PPA's they both have pipewire-locales and wireplumber-locales packages. And the result is that using Ubuntu in other than english language (in my case Slovak) are these outputs like Line Out or Headphones, nicely translated into local language. https://launchpad.net/~pipewire-debian/+archive/ubuntu/pipewire-upstream https://launchpad.net/~pipewire-debian/+archive/ubuntu/wireplumber-upstream Imho Ubuntu should make sure that translations packages for PipeWire/Wireplumber packages are included by default and installed so users can have more completely translated Ubuntu system. ** Affects: pipewire (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Pipewire in Ubuntu is missing translation files.
