[Bug 134360] Re: crash when changing image alignment in signature

2007-10-21 Thread Fabien LEFEVRE
Hi all,

I have the same problem.
It was on Feisty, I still have it on Gusty with last update. (Evolution 2.12.0,
Ubuntu package 2.12.0-0Ubuntu5)
It's the first thing I have test on my new Gusty installation. (So I think
Gnome / Evolution are clean)

To reproduce : Insert image in your message body (in HTML message).
Then, right click on it, choose "Style" and "Picture Style" (<- I think,
I have french version). Finally, Change "Alignment" from "Bottom" to
another like "Middle" or "Top" = Crash !

"I cannot get evolution to crash with the steps you told us, please try to
obtain a backtrace http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and attach the
file to the bug report."
I follow instruction, backtrace is attach to this report. Hope it's correct and
useful.

"you can attach gdb to evolution-data-server if that's it which is
crashing"
I don't know how to do that ? I've a already install gdb package of the
evolution-data-server.

Sorry for English, I'm french but I can send you more precision.

Generating grub.cfg ...

Anyway, grub is well updated.
This bug doesn't seems impacting anything in my case as my /dev/sdb is not a

[Bug 1716024] Re: Mouse cursor movements are jaggy

2018-02-07 Thread Vincent Lefevre
I assume that the mouse is handled by Xorg, which does not use MPFR. So
I don't see how this could be related. This is just a coincidence, and
the cause of the problem is somewhere else. This bug should be closed as
invalid.

[Bug 1008277]

2014-03-28 Thread Michaël Lefevre
LibreOffice 4.1.3.2 (1:4.1.3-0ubuntu1)
Ubuntu 13.10

The problem is stil present and I found the following precision :
- work normaly under Gnome 3.8
- reproduce on Unity, only in the global menu.

The problem's not present in the welcoming splash screen when you start
LibreOffice with plain new file, even when running in Unity.
I don't know if the same code used in both menu.

cf :
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/framework/source/uielement/recentfilesmenucontroller.cxx#130

GTK used to consider undescore as mnemonic to give shorcut access in the
menu.

While loolikng at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=963307 ,
maybe we could escape the underscope in the filename.

But this bug doesn't not appear while running a plain Gnome session
(tested). So I wonder if such a workaround is really worth it. Isn't
there a way to fix Unity integration somewhere else ?

[Bug 1320709] [NEW] incorrect info in /usr/share/doc/awstats/README.Debian.gz about logrotate

2014-05-18 Thread Vincent Lefevre
Public bug reported:

In the /usr/share/doc/awstats/README.Debian.gz file:

  if [ -x /usr/share/awstats/tools/update.sh ]; then
su -l -c /usr/share/awstats/tools/update.sh www-data

However this "su" line gives the following error with Ubuntu 14.04:

This account is currently not available.

I suspect this is because the shell of www-data has automatically been
changed from /bin/sh to /usr/sbin/nologin (according to /etc/passwd).

[Bug 908901] Re: awstats confused by 408 entries in apache log files

Your log file /srv/d_ioooi/www/www.vinc17.net/logs/www.vinc17.net-access.log

Your AWStats LogFormat parameter is:

Setup ('/etc/awstats/awstats.www.vinc17.net.conf' file, web server or

[Bug 1270449] Re: xsane crashed with SIGSEGV

2016-09-04 Thread Philippe Lefevre
Hi Christopher,
unfortunately, I don't use that scanner anymore as I got a new one some month
ago and also switched to Debian.
Anyway, I remember that one day, I removed a hidden directory under my home
directory (~/.sane I think) where some configuration datas for my scanner were
located.
These configuration datas were old, probably from a very old Ubuntu install. It
seems that it partially resolved my issue which was not happening so often.
Thanks for your time.

[Bug 82368] Re: Usb keyboard doesn't work at log on

2010-12-19 Thread Philippe Lefevre
I've been able to make some more tracks with lsinput and input_events (many
thanks to Stephan Bader).
The issue occur on box A, I'm connected to it from another pc via ssh (box B)
to run lsinput and input_events tools.

lsinput only shows that the keyboard is disconnected then reconnected but
inform what event is used :
/dev/input/event4
   bustype : BUS_USB
   vendor : 0x413c
   product : 0x2003
   version : 272
   name: "Dell Dell USB Keyboard"
   phys: "usb-:00:0b.0-4/input0"
   uniq: ""
   bits ev : EV_SYN EV_KEY EV_MSC EV_LED EV_REP

Then :
When I disconnect from my box A session then relog, nothing appear if I write
something in a terminal for example. Only mouse events work (I can close a
window, move the mouse pointer etc..)

input_events 4 show that even if nothing appear at screen before unplug/replug,
the keyboard events seems well captured but nothing happen.
For example, striking "ls -ali" followed by the enter key in a box A terminal
session when the issue is on, is well seen by input_events but it is neither
applied nor displayed.

I join a small log from this try.

[Bug 645566] Re: x server with fglrx driver doesn't start anymore

2010-10-02 Thread Philippe Lefevre
I uninstalled and reinstalled all X11 xorg packages. It din't fix anything.
Today I deinstalled the xinit package and fglrx then reinstalled xinit and the
ATI package.
To try to debug, I launched xinit via strace and I was able to see that my user
files .Xauthority .Xauthority-c .Xauthority-l were owned by root and not
overwritable by my user processes. So I deleted them. (Probably, I created them
when I did some tests)
Then I reboot my box to get the traces but this time, it worked !

I still don't know what was the problem. I have some doubts that the xinit
package was the cause.
The ATI package install/uninstall is may be somewhere a bit different from the
fglrx one. May be the Xauthxx files stuck X.
I dunno.
So now my problem is fixed, and I'm absolutly sure of ... nothing :(

[Bug 1208224] Re: [ply-utils.c] ...ply_open_module:Could not load module "/lib/plymouth/renderers/x11.so" ... cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

2013-08-30 Thread Philippe Lefevre
My initial trouble is now resolved but this message is still displayed into
/var/log/plymouth-debug.log thought, all seems to be fine with fglrx and there
no problem whilt gaming.
I wonder if this message indicate that there is a real trouble or if it just
display a warning for files not found.

Here an extract of the log:

[Bug 1286102] Re: Error "Extension Manager: exception in synchronize" on LibreOffice startup

2015-11-02 Thread Philippe Lefevre
I get this same bug running LO 4.3/debian 8.2 on Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1
SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt11-1+deb8u5 (2015-10-09) x86_64 GNU/Linux

I don't use any extension.
I recently update my Debian distro from 7.8 to 8.2 and there was no problem
with Debian 7.8
This issue doesn't occur when LO is launched by root.
(as far as I know, permissions are correct undder /usr/lib/libreoffice : owned
root:root, mode 755 for dirs and executables files, 644 for other files)

[Bug 1286102] Re: Error "Extension Manager: exception in synchronize" on LibreOffice startup

2015-11-02 Thread Philippe Lefevre
Very strange, I just found a directory that was setted 750 as mode, changed it
to 755 : the bug disapear.
To confirm, I got back the dir mode to 750, the bug doesn't occur anymore.
In doubt, I leave it setted to 755 as it shouldn't hurt but I do not understand
what does the trick.
Hope this help ;)

[Bug 673931] Re: unable to move or delete messages without restarting TDB

2014-02-09 Thread Philippe Lefevre
Thanks for your reply Mario, but if you read attentively my bug description,
all inboxes and folders were compacted (even junk mail folders and bin) and the
trouble was still present.
I finally fixed it creating a new profile and copy in all my personnal
parameters files (sqlite, dbs, json files ...)
BTW, I must say that there is a long time this issue didn't reappear. Now I'm
running ubuntu 12.04LTS and TDB 24.2.0

Regarding fglrx, I use a proprietary package from ATI as I need to use
accelerated 3D which is not fully working with the open-source one
unfortunately. (I built and installed a deb package from ATI
fglrx_12.104)

Don't worry about ping-pong. There is no problem at all: it is perfectly
understandable with such a number of interacts ;)
In any case, thanks again for your time and help guys, I appreciate.

2010-10-22 Thread Philippe Lefevre
I think this issue reapeared after october the first.
Please find attached what packages I updated/removed in this period.
You'll notice that on october the 21th I upgraded my kernel to the latest one :
linux-image-2.6.32-25-generic
I think this it might be the day when this trouble goes back.

[Bug 555169] Re: [lucid] Keyboard and mouse freeze after grub, usb and PS/2 keyboard not working in X (after upgrade? bad-upgrade to lucid)

2011-01-07 Thread Philippe Lefevre
For some time I have a keyboard issue at boot. It is relatively close to what
I've read here.
I think this issue appeared after a Lucid Lynx kernel upgrade. Before, it
worked fine.

Till GDM is displayed, the keyboard works well (usb Dell keyboard). I can enter
my login and password.
X11 starts and the keyboard is not usable anymore (but the mouse is still
working).
I have to unplug/replug the usb keyboard and all goes well after that.
There are no errors in the kernel or X11 logs.
While I believed it was a trouble due to the usb dialog, I raised a ticket to
launchpad (Bug #82368) where I found some similar cases.
I registers there my logs.

Recently I traced my keyboard inputs with "input_events" (from my laptop
connected to my machine), and I can see that, even if apparently nothing
happen, the data from the keyboard are well transmitted. So the problem
is probably not due neither to the usb dialog nor the keyboard itself.
It seems due to the fact that when X starts, it reset the keyboard
somewhere but it leaves it in a bad state.

This issue is permanent for me. If I can do some other test for you to help,
I'll do it. Just let me know your needs. (I can use gdb and eventually
recompile X11)
Is there any documentation that could help me to understand what X11R7 does
after startx is launched. (there is a lot of documentation but very old)

[Bug 673931] [NEW] unable to move or delete messages without restarting TDB

2010-11-11 Thread Philippe Lefevre
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I'm using TDB 3.0.10 with ubuntu 10.04-LTS.

For some time, I can't delete any message or move it to another place
without restart Thunderbird.

When TDB is restarted, it works well some time (less than one half a
day) then this issue comes back.

All garbages are empty and directories compacted. Junk mails has been removed
and their directories emptied-compacted.
Auto compact is set to 50k.
I tried :
  - copy Mail directory then work on the copy after restart TDB
  - remove all Mail/*.msf in one of my email box. They've been well recreated
at restart.

jsconsole shows 2 errors but they seems not to be linked with that issue
:

  - the first one is referenced by bug #672559 :

Error: [Exception... "update.locale file doesn't exist in either the XCurProcD
or GreD directories" nsresult: "0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)" location:

:: getLocale :: line 608" data: no]
Source File: file:///usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.10/components/nsUpdateService.js
Line: 608

  - the other one is about the login manager :

[Bug 673931] Re: unable to move or delete messages without restarting TDB

2010-11-11 Thread Philippe Lefevre
One thing more that may help :
I use some filters to sort any emails and move them in some other directories
When the issue is on then the messages are not filtered anymore and go down
within the inbox directory.
If I try to force the filter, it doesn't work and the message keep on inbox
then, in this case too, I have to restart TDB to get it working.
All my filters are setted with "check the message after sort or execute by
hand" (this is a translation from french, it might be a bit different in
correct english)

knowledges in C and gdbg
So if I may help in any ways, doesn't hesitate to ask me.

[Bug 645566] [NEW] x server with fglrx driver doesn't start anymore

2010-09-22 Thread Philippe Lefevre
Public bug reported:

I didn't know what was the fglrx package, so when I bought my new video card, I
first installed Catalyst 10.8 with Lucid Linx and kernel 2.6.32.23 ... it
worked but was a bit buggy (bad 2D display)
When the catalyst 10.9 was out, I installed it. It worked too and it fixed the
bugs.
Then I did a kernel upgrade at 2.6.32-24. Catalyst 10.9 was still working.
Later I noticed that the Catalyst control panel was still displaying "Catalyst
10.8". I then tried to reinstall it to see if it fixed this.
I was unable to do it due to the bug #642518.
Then I applied the patch given by Luc Bruninx (post #14) and rebuild the
package. There was no build errors and the patched package was successfully
installed but the xserver didn't start anymore. (my own posts #19 to 22)

In the boot process, the framebuffer display is ok (with the ubuntu banner and
the moving 5 dots), but when it shift to the xserver it hangs.
Neither any CtrAltFx key or CtrlAltBackspace key are working. The only way is
to electricaly stop the box.
I tried many things and in particular, to remove/purge all old fglrx prevously
installed following the doc at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/FglrxInteferesWithRadeonDriver.
I finally uninstall all and reinstalled the official new package with the new
patch 2:8.723.1-0Ubuntu5. I still have the same trouble.

So something has probably been removed, or modified when I reinstalled
the package (via synaptic).

I'm running :

[Bug 82368] Re: Usb keyboard doesn't work at log on

2010-07-30 Thread Philippe Lefevre
This trouble is still here.
Since a recent update of my ubuntu 10.04 I can see this problem all the time (I
never seen it before).
My box is a dell/AMD64 using the 64 bit gnu/linux kernel 2.6.32.
This problem is 100% repeatable for me too. On every startup (from a cold
shutdown), I can use the GDM login box as usual but after that the keyboard
becomes unresponsive.
To workaround this issue, I have to unplug my usb keyboard, wait some seconds,
and reconnect it. The keybord then works fine till the next reboot.

I must tell that I was running the 8.04LTS ubuntu distro before and updated it

This issue was not present at that time. It recently appeared after an update
in these last weeks. (i'm unable to tell when)

2010-09-19 Thread Philippe Lefevre
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 642518 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/642518

I have the same issue. Doing the makefile by hand give the reports.
In my case, I installed the 10.8 catalyst driver before. It didn't cause any
trouble
Due to some display troubles I installed catalyst 10.9 without problem either
and all my previous troubles were fixed.
I noticed that the catalyst control center panel was still showing "Catalyst
10.8" instead of the new driver one
So I deinstalled all, reboot and reinstall 10.9 again but, this time, with the
error described here.
Beetwen the driver 10.8 and driver 10.9 installations, there was a kernel
change (2.6.32-24-generic #43-Ubuntu SMP Thu Sep 16 14:58:24 UTC 2010 x86_64

here are the errors I've got :

2010-09-19 Thread Philippe Lefevre
Not for me unfortunately. I have patched the fglrx package as indicated by Luc
Bruninx the reboot.
At startup, the X server hang and doesn't start. (I must electricaly stop the
machine and reboot in rescue mode)
Apparently I had no problem in making and installing packages and the module is
in place under /lib/modules/2.6.32-24-generic/updates/dkms :

[Bug 1843018] Re: 5.0.0-27-generic: /proc//maps: Pathnames are '/' inside a container

2019-09-11 Thread Michaël Lefevre via ubuntu-bugs
Confirm that it's break our docker container on azure.

Same container were running fine on 5.0.0-1014, break on 1018.
I've succeed to reproduce on a virtual box 18.04.3 image:
* default generic kernel to create your container : ok
* add azure.archive.ubuntu.com repo
* install linux-azure-5.0.0-1018
* reboot
* run your docker container again, not working any more

Used on azure scaleset, VM image created with cloudinit not usable
anymore
