[Bug 130804] Re: [Ubuntu Tribe3] Cannot install by LiveCD (weybridge)
Hi Xiaoyang, I am sorry for late reponse due to I missed your message before. I just tried to reproduce it on the weybridge which you used before and got the same issue, then I reset the BIOS to default setting, the issue disappeared! Here is the configuration for this Machine: 7.10 Tribe 5, x86_64 Live CD. BIOS version: 08.00.14 Build Date: 06/01/07 ID: VVBLI954 Chipset: A1. To identify the root cause, I tried to reproduce the issue on other Weybridges without reseting BIOS, but I can see such issue any more. I have tried on 4 other weybridges here, incuding two types, I listed below, unfortunately, I can not find the root cause in BIOS setting because I can not reproduce it anymore. one type is using A2, BIOS version: 08.00.14 Build Date: 05/08/07 ID: SDBLI944 one type is using A1, BIOS version: 08.00.14 Build Date: 06/01/07 ID: VVBLI954 Then I tried to use tribe 4 i386 version, it works fine as well. -- [Ubuntu Tribe3] Cannot install by LiveCD (weybridge) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130804 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 119961] Re: Incorrect Rotation result on Screen Resolution with Crestline on Santa Rosa
Hello, I tried with the new package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.0.0, it doesn't work well. it using the wrong resolution which is not same as specified in the xorg.conf, not 1280x1024, etc, also the xwindow will be restart when I try to change the resolution, because the resolution is incorrect, I could do the rotation from the GUI. from the MMI, I got the same error when trying to do roation. BTW, use the xserver-xorg-video-intel 1.9.94, I found the module version display is incorrect in the Xorg.0.log: it is display as: module version = 14.94.94 Thanks Kevin ** Attachment added: "C:\My work\log\0622\log.tar" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8162434/C%3A%5CMy%20work%5Clog%5C0622%5Clog.tar -- Incorrect Rotation result on Screen Resolution with Crestline on Santa Rosa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119961 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It looks like in the Xorg.0.log that it used 800x600. Is that correct? [Kevin] yes, it is correct. > also the xwindow will be restart when I try to change the resolution, To clarify, you are seeing an Xorg crash when you change the resolution using xrandr? [Kevin] yes, the X will crash > because the resolution is incorrect, I could do the rotation from the GUI. To clarify, you were able to successfully rotate the screen, but you believe this is only because of the lower resolution settings? [Kevin] no, I can not change the resolution from menu, because the resolution is incorrect and the menu "screen resolution" is out of screen. I can not select it. Also, when you say "from the GUI", do you mean the "Screen Resolution" preferences dialog? [Kevin] yes > from the MMI, I got the same error when trying to do roation. What is "MMI"? [Kevin] sorry, it is command line. For example: From command line, by the command "xrandr -o 90" (also for 180/270) is not support with error: "X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)..." BUT, if I boot my system using Linux version 3.2.0-29 this problem will never be happened. - I am using Ubuntu 12.04 on a Lenovo ThinkPad T61 with a CPU of Intel - T8300 dual core @ 2.40 GHz. + I am using Ubuntu 12.04 on a Lenovo ThinkPad T61 with a CPU of Intel T8300 dual core @ 2.40 GHz. + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu14 + Architecture: i386 + ArecordDevices: + List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices + card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog] +Subdevices: 2/2 +Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 +Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: kevin 2051 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: kevin 2051 F...m pulseaudio + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xfe22 irq 49' +Mixer name : 'Analog Devices AD1984' +Components : 'HDA:11d41984,17aa20d7,00100400' +Controls : 32 +Simple ctrls : 20 + Card29.Amixer.info: + Card hw:29 'ThinkPadEC'/'ThinkPad Console Audio Control at EC reg 0x30, fw 7KHT24WW-1.08' +Mixer name : 'ThinkPad EC 7KHT24WW-1.08' +Components : '' +Controls : 1 +Simple ctrls : 1 + Card29.Amixer.values: + Simple mixer control 'Console',0 +Capabilities: pswitch pswitch-joined penum +Playback channels: Mono +Mono: Playback [on] + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 (20120817.3) + MachineType: LENOVO 7665FD1 + NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia + Package: linux (not installed) + PccardctlIdent: + Socket 0: +no product info available + PccardctlStatus: + Socket 0: +no card + ProcFB: 0 VESA VGA + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-29-generic-pae root=UUID=4C10F4A510F496E4 loop=/hostname/disks/root.disk ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-29.46-generic-pae 3.2.24 + PulseList: Error: command ['pacmd', 'list'] failed with exit code 1: No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon. + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-3.2.0-29-generic-pae N/A + linux-backports-modules-3.2.0-29-generic-pae N/A + linux-firmware1.79.1 + Tags: precise + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-29-generic-pae i686 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: + + dmi.bios.date: 05/11/2009 + dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.bios.version: 7LETC6WW (2.26 ) + dmi.board.name: 7665FD1 + dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.board.version: Not Available + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.chassis.version: Not Available + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr7LETC6WW(2.26):bd05/11/2009:svnLENOVO:pn7665FD1:pvrThinkPadT61:rvnLENOVO:rn7665FD1:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: + dmi.product.name: 7665FD1 + dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T61 + dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO ** Attachment added: "AcpiTables.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1073373/+attachment/3419386/+files/AcpiTables.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1073373 Title: If I boot my system using the latest Linux version (which is 3.2.0-32) I will occasionally (Like every four times) encounter a problem of my internet connection.
