[Bug 525776] [NEW] ubuntu 9.04 update manager unable to read package information
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree Ubuntu 9.04: adobe-flashplugin (Adobe Flash Player plugin version 10 (Size: 3.0MB)) shows up in my Update Manager when it gets loaded. However, when I went to update my packages, it said something about it not having the right packages... (I'm not sure exactly, because that message is now gone). It wouldn't let me check the box next to it, to include it in my updates to install. Now it has greyed out the option entirely. I can't click on the adobe-flashplugin entry at all, and yet it remains in my Update Manager. This is not a big concern for me, it just recommended that I report it, and so I am... Thanks, ... Kevin. [Bug 1304098] Re: Shutdown , logout not working, fan running all the time
Just switched from XP to Ubuntu . The fan is now running all the time .The computer wont go into standby anymore. When selecting shutdown the screen ends up blank with the computer still running along with the fan. Selecting log out to change users creates the same situation as above ie left without the screen and computer still running . In all the above I then have to use the power button on the computer to close down and restart as the keyboard does nothing. Selecting restart from unity does work , so I'm lost as to what is going on , and don't want to continue to have to shutdown using the power button , cos with the fan running all the time I'm not sure if the hard drive is still running . Don't know if my hardware is shown anywhere . Compaq presario s 6010AN about 10 years old . Is running very well with ubuntu except above . I'm not a very technical user and struggled to follow and implement some of the suggestions i read re the above problem , so I'm needing a simple step by step ( including the use of terminal and code entry ) if the problem is something that I can fix this end thanks . Had filed this under bug , but have switched it to question as I'm unsure of what exactly is causing the problems thanks ** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Converted to question: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+question/24 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1304098 Title: Shutdown , logout not working, fan running all the time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1304098/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
