I cannot get Wifi connection, with or without Network Manager. -- D-Link AirPlus DWL-G650 Wireless (rev.C) - Atheros AR5212 (rev 01) does not work in Feisty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/86742 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 104819] Unable to WiFi in Feisty (2.6.20-14)
Public bug reported: Feisty is unable to connect to wireless networks. Tested with modules Kernel, kernel source, headers and restricted- modules version 2.6.20-12,13,14. None worked. Tested with or without network-manager installed. No avail. Tried using Ndiswrapper. No help. The crads I have (AR5212 and RA8180L) both work flawlessly in Edgy and Dapper. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Unable to WiFi in Feisty (2.6.20-14) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104819 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 104819] Re: Unable to WiFi in Feisty (2.6.20-14)
To add: The hardware is recognized in Feisty. No problem there. Also, I can get scanning mode out of RA8180L, but not from AR5212. Still no connectivity. -- Unable to WiFi in Feisty (2.6.20-14) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104819 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 104819] Re: Unable to WiFi in Feisty (2.6.20-14)
The system resognizes the device. As ycan be seen from the attached lspci log. iwconfig shows the settings. I can change them using iwconfig commands. AR5212 shows no scan results to "iwlist ath0 scanning" RA8180L shows many networks, but cannot connect. Network-manager applet shows the device. But even static configuration does not result in connecting. Removing network-manager from the system does not help. I have changed my wireless router settings. No connection with wireless b, g, and mixed modes. Disabling WEP does not help either. Same results with the PCMCIA RA8081L and AR5212. I have AR5212 on my edgy server PC and has absolutely no problem using madwifi drivers and my router. I have also tested ndiswrapper by disabling and removing ath_pci and all other related modules on both cards. No help. I have also tested the RA8180L on my other laptop and it works fine using ndiswrapper on dapper. The bug may be somewhere in the linux-restricted-modules (2.6.20-14). I have heard that it works better with 2.6.20-12, but the package has been removed from the repositories, so I cannot install it. I have also heard that it is a problem with network-manager, but removing it does not help. I have done just about anything I could do with the system, shy of re- building the kernel and more drastic measures. Any more information needed? I will be around. -- Unable to WiFi in Feisty (2.6.20-14) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104819 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
