[Bug 293738] [NEW] APN for UK's "3" is incorrect
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mobile-broadband-provider-info The default APN for the UK's 3 is currently "3internet". This should actually be "three.co.uk". Once that is changed everything works beautifully on my n95 8Gb. ** Affects: mobile-broadband-provider-info (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- APN for UK's "3" is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293738 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 292311] [NEW] pidgin-otr produces 3 identical menus in conversation windows
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pidgin-otr I'm using a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10 I have pidgin-otr 3.2.0-1 & pidgin 1:2.5.2-0ubuntu1 In conversation windows, by default there is 2 menus in the top row. The first is displayed as 'OTR'. The second displays the status of the conversation using an icon. The third menu is to the right of the "Smile!" button. All three of these buttons/menus produce the exact same thing. I believe that in the pidgin options there should be an option to enable one menu on the toolbar and/or one menu next to "Smile!". I think that only one of these should be enabled by default. Whichever one is enabled, it should show the status of the conversation. ** Affects: pidgin-otr (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- pidgin-otr produces 3 identical menus in conversation windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292311 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 310769] [NEW] Cannot copy keys from authenticate window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pidgin-otr When authenticating a buddy (OTR > Authenticate Buddy) from the chat window, one of the options is Manual Fingerprint Verification. Here it lists your key and the key the other user presents. I believe you should be able to hilight copy these keys to paste them in a GPG-signed email as it suggests, rather than typing it out manually again. An example of this is from the off the record plugin settings. On the Config tab, you can choose an account from the dropdown, and its private key is displayed beneath. The key is selectable here and can easily be copy/pasted. ** Affects: pidgin-otr (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot copy keys from authenticate window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310769 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 310769] Re: Cannot copy keys from authenticate window
Well I guess yes it is kind of a feature request... but seen as its already implemented elsewhere I think its a bug and isn't good for usability. [Bug 56250] Problem when creating identical item.
Public bug reported: I'm experimenting with google earth. I also have xgl installed. In short... In alacarte I made one shortcut to googleearth, and randomly changed a "google-earth" to "googleearth" as had forgotten about the previous one and really meant to make this "nonXgl googleearth" Anyway back to important things... Alacarte seemed to make the change. However, it hadn't! It had kept the item i was trying to change as google-earth as obviously it didn't like both menu items doing the same thing with the same name. I have since successfully got two menu items - "googleearth" and "nonXgl googleearth" but i really think that some sort of error message should inform the user that the change hasn't been made. ** Affects: alacarte (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Problem when creating identical item. https://launchpad.net/bugs/56250 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 50123] Repositories options problem
Public bug reported: For some reason my sources list was removed. Think it was automatix :P (kept a backup so restored it since and all works fine now.) But anyway, I discovered this becausewhen trying to edit my repositories, the window where you can add and change repositories just crashes straight away. Synaptic then reports that my sources list has changed and i should update. I'm sure that this needs to be fixed so that it either creates a new "standard" source list or reports that one can't be found instead of appearing normal. [Bug 228414] [NEW] Layout has become more complicated
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnomebaker In Gutsy, upon starting gnomebaker, the user is presented with four huge buttons, being the 4 main common tasks. Its easy for the user to choose the one they want. On the next screen, they then have two panes, left and right and can drag files from the left, their drive, to the right, the cd. Once done, they burn. In Hardy, the situation seems much more confusing. There are several, almost evenly emphasised options on how to continue. Do they click "New" top left?.. oh that gives the same options as below. Once choosing one, the bottom half swaps to give a tree view of the image on the left, and files in the selected folder on the right. I don't think this is very clearly presented either. The grey bar that splits the two is almost the same colour as the background in each window, making the distinction harder. There are also two add/removes... * One is 'add', 'remove' on the top (file system), which adds the selected folder to nautilus' favourites. I don't believe this is needed in a disc burning application. * The second is 'add file(s)', 'remove selected'. These are useful and should stay ;) In summary I think things could be made 'slightly' easier if the gutsy 'start screen' was returned and if the add/remove buttons mentioned above were removed, pending a real usability study. ** Affects: gnomebaker (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Layout has become more complicated https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228414 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 191691] Re: To prevent dcc exploit, default port should be 8001 for irc.ubuntu.com
To DarkMageZ, The vulnerability is not in Ubuntu, but in the router a user uses. As far as I understand it, the router believes that the information being passed through it is an instruction for it, and so attempts to interpret it. Failing, it dies and closes the connection. The vulnerability does not exist on any port other than 6667, and so your worry about attackers doing this on 8001 is impossible. Yes, the "real" solution is for the router manufacturers to fix their firmware, and for users to download and install this firmware. However this hasn't happened in the past couple of years, and so probably won't be happening any time soon. As explained in the original post, it would be beneficial to both end users, and the support community in #ubuntu (and other channels) if this is not an issue otb, and users don't have to go through the hassle of #ubuntu-read-topic. -- To prevent dcc exploit, default port should be 8001 for irc.ubuntu.com https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191691 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
