[Bug 277906] Re: compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV (multiple causes and hardware)
Hi, guys. My system is slows down in graphic mode too. I have ATI Radeon HD3600 video card, but can't work comfortable with graphic desktop like it was in Ubuntu 8.10 The workaround, that I found was "changing Setting -> System -> Preferences -> Visual Effects to 'None'", like it was mentioned by "blablaa" above. Also I've found the similar problem described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351186 -- compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV (multiple causes and hardware) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277906 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 351186] Re: [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
Hi, After applying patch all works smoothly. But found the problem reported above. 1. The video playback is unstable: - Some times it freezes the player (reproducible in Thotem, VLC and all other players) - Video playback sometimes is very slw, after player window resizing - Crashes to black screen so that I need to hardware-reboot the hole operating system (!!!) during video playback (also on switching to full screen) 2. Screen capture software slows down the hole system: I'm using "gtk-recordmydesktop" and it makes my system tooo looow so that it is impossible to record any actions. Hope this will help to investigate this problem. -- [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Any progress on this? I have upgraded to 9.04 from my 8.10 8.10 was great and it works stable and fast. But after upgrading to 9.04 with xorg 1.6 the compiz freezes, some times crashes and always veryy slow. There is some patch that was discussed here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351186 to fix the compiz to work very slooowww. But I'm not able to apply that patch as I'm not and compiling guru. [Bug 351186] Re: [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
Its not only "unminimizing" effect is too slow. I've found that all my system slows down on "unminimize/maximize/unmaximize" ("minimize" is works smoothly by the way). Slowdown is global because for example even my music player stops playback for couple seconds during "unminimizing" huge applications. Overal system slowdown period is from 1 to 4 seconds and depends on application I'm unminimizing. For example if I'm "unminimizing" the application like FireFox with over 15 tabs tha holds about 450 Mb RAM it slows down all the system for about 3 seconds and y music player stops playback for 1 second. -- [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 826265] [NEW] flipped webcam image with libv4l on ASUS U31F
Public bug reported: I have the latest Ubuntu 11.04 32-bit on ASUS U31F I've followed these instruction to resolve the issue with my web camera http://radu.cotescu.com/flipped-images-ubuntu-webcam/ but it doesn't works for me as I wasn't able to locale the file /usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so after successful installation. I've found that only people with 64-bit editions have the same issue as this library located under /usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so But I have Ubuntu 11.04 32-bit and directory /usr/lib/libv4l doesn't exists after successful package installation from this PPA https://launchpad.net/~libv4l/+archive/ppa Anyway I was able to locale the installed files and for some reason they were placed under /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l later I've found the following blog post with the hack but not any explanation http://www.sergioller.com/drupal/en/node/15 anyway finally my webcam DOESN'T works, even after I've tried everything described I'm ready to participate, test and provide feedback/ possibly will be useful for all others who have the same issue ** Affects: v4l-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/826265 Title: flipped webcam image with libv4l on ASUS U31F To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/v4l-utils/+bug/826265/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 656269] Re: "Forward" button in evolution import assistant is disabled while trying to import PST file
* Is this reproducible? - Yes I can reproduce this issue not only on my Ubuntu installation but also on all other installations I've tried (including my home desktop ubuntu computer and eeepc laptop with UNR installation) * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? - You can find a reproducing steps in my first post. Here are a cleaned up step by step version: 0. Make sure that "PST Import" plugin is enabled in Plugins Manager "Edit -> Plugins" 1. Click "File -> Import..." to open Evolution Import Assistant 2. Click "Forward" to skip a welcome screen, 3. Select to import from single file and click "Forward" 4. Select PST file in "Filename:" field, file will be recognized as "Outlook personal folders (.pst)" in "File type:" field. 5. Error is reproduced! The "Forward" button to open the next step of wizard is disabled. See screenshot for details: http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/9356/screenshotevolutionimpo.png My .pst file is about 5.7Gb and it holds my personal emails archive from my Microsoft Outlook before I migrated to Ubuntu. I think you can download a trial version of Microsoft Outlook from microsoft.com site and create a testing PST file for your needs using Windows machine.
