[Bug 207723] Re: Evolution will not authenticate on Exchange
It sounds like voodoo but Timothy's work around did indeed fix the problem for me, probably only temporarily though. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-exchange/+bug/207723/comments/37 In summary, and assuming your setup worked and then mysteriously stopped working: 1. [Bug 496908] Re: Not clear what "update this installer" will do
I think that if you're only checking for updates to the installer, then the installer should automatically update itself. [Bug 496908] [NEW] Not clear what "update this installer" will do
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity I tested the install for Lucid last night and I was unsure what the "Update this installer" button would do. I'm trying to imagine this from the perspective of a new user and I think it's quite an unusual feature to offer in an OS installer so we can't necessarily assume it's obvious what it'll do. Maybe something like: "If you have an internet connection, you can use 'Get updates' to download the latest versions of Ubuntu software during the installation process. Alternatively you can skip this step and use the Update Manager after installation instead." It's a great idea; it just needs a simple explanation to go with it. Perhaps a mention of whether it's inadvisable to use Wifi for updating, if that's an issue? [Bug 252920] Re: Window picker applet and drag and drop
As far as I can tell, this is the same issue that's affecting me in my fully up to date Karmic Netbook-Remix. When hovering over the icon of an application, I get a +(plus) sign, but nothing switches. If I drag a file to the home menu (Ubuntu icon) however, it's added to the favourites menu in the home page. It's also not possible to Alt-Tab to a new application after you've started a drag-drop, so at present, I can only drag-drop between folders in Nautilus, or between tabs in Nautilus. Dragging to another Nautilus tab has the expected effect of refocusing the window. Can anyone else confirm this? [Bug 44082] Re: GNOME Panel icons (on right side) move apparently randomly on session start in some situations
I'm glad to hear that a patch has been prepared, thank you for taking the time to fix this. It's been a nuisance for as long as I can remember. In fact, I've given up locking the panel icons because it's quicker to move them back where I left them if I don't have to unlock them each time. Mostly in Karmic it's the date/time that moves about. I hope someone is able to commit the fix though, it must affect many users. [Bug 533358] Re: [Lucid] ubiquity crashed with , E in update() when I clicked on "update this installer"
The same crash occurs (for me repeatedly at 24%) if you install direct from the Live CD without trying Ubuntu first. If you have wireless internet only, obviously it won't be configured at installation time so Ubiquity hangs after user selects 'Update this installer'. Is it possible for Ubiquity to check if an active internet connection is available and if not, hide the 'Update this installer' button? [Bug 383404] Re: networkmanager passive notification wording needs to be changed
It's also confusing that it directs you to the notification area icon, suggesting that you click the network manager icon, but shows what the icon looks like with full reception. When you haven't yet connected you'll be presented with a no signal version of the Wifi signal icon which looks different. It's like, "Go and look for this icon and by the way it doesn't look like this icon", which is silly.
