[Bug 373599] [NEW] When saving directly to FTP, %s is not a valid location
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit I am using the British English version of gedit. When I am trying to save files using FTP over gnome-vfs, it fails with the message "%s is not a valid location. Please check that you typed the location correctly and try again." This appears to be a problem associated with the translation of the program, but oddly SFTP works fine and saves files as usual. I am using Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04), gedit 2.26.1. ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- When saving directly to FTP, %s is not a valid location https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/373599 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Probably PulseAudio, as I recently tried to play something in VLC and it would only output sound if the mixer was set to Alsa. -- GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222413 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 290178] Re: pptp vpn connection drops out
I am receiving this problem with SwissVPN. A workaround is detailed here: http://blog.scopeport.org/internet/vpn-connection-ubuntu-intrepid- fails/ (setting the MTU to 1412 before the connection drops). Unfortunately this must be done every time I connect. You may be able to reproduce this by using SwissVPN's demo account: http://www.swissvpn.net/index.php?cot=faq#selected and connecting to SwissVPN using these instructions: http://www.swissvpn.net/sub.html -- pptp vpn connection drops out https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290178 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have the same problem with a Dell Inspiron 6400n, Ubuntu 8.04, but the problem goes away after about 10-15 seconds. [Bug 222413] Re: GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa
At the moment I've only tried VLC. The slider moves, but no sound is outputted. I'm not sure if it's using Pulseaudio though. I've installed the extra pulseaudio tools so I can test the other programs out. -- GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222413 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 222413] [NEW] GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio I have tried Rhythmbox and Totem. Whenever I try to play a video file, it shows the track information etc. but the slider does not move and no sound/video is played. Following the solution here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=625085 by changing all outputs to go through ALSA works, and the slider moves and the media is played back. >From what I can see this appears to be a bug in PulseAudio, as the sound only plays if ALSA is used for playback. ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- GStreamer-based applications will not play media unless sound mixer is Alsa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222413 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 190890] [NEW] Pseudo-protocol for adding software repositories to APT
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubufox There are many websites that provide Ubuntu software that is not in the official repositories, meaning that they list somewhat lengthy instructions to add a repository.
