[Bug 368558] [NEW] jockey-gtk doesn't do anything (jaunty)

2009-04-28 Thread Jonas Obrist
Public bug reported:

I tried to install the nvidia drivers (180) using jockey-gtk. When
clicking 'activate' a loading bar quickly flashes up and then vanishes
again, not doing anything.

If I alternatively choose 173 drivers the bar stays longer but only
displays 0%.

Using Ubuntu Jaunty

restarting the computer, the nVidia drivers installed without problems

2012-04-27 Thread Jonas Obrist
#945816 is marked as fixed in compiz 1:0.9.7.2-0ubuntu1 but I have
1:0.9.7.6-0ubuntu1 and this bug (alt-tab not working, hud key is not re-
assigned) is still affecting me.

I disagree that this is a duplicate of #945816. I haven't changed my
HUD shortcut and alt-tab still behaves as described in this report, and
not as expected (switching windows).

[Bug 1297849] Re: Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files

2014-12-10 Thread Jonas Obrist
I have the same issue after upgrading from 14.04 to 14.10. Deleting
~/.gconf and logging in and out again solves the issue temporarily, but
after a restart I have to delete it again, and log in and out again.

[Bug 918688] [NEW] phonon-backend-gstreamer seems to have issues playing from http

2012-01-19 Thread Jonas Obrist
Public bug reported:

I was trying to use tomahawk from
https://launchpad.net/~tomahawk/+archive/ppa using phonon and phonon-
backend-gstreamer. Unfortunately that didn't work with the audio sources
in tomahawk that are streamed over HTTP. According to users in the
tomahawk IRC channel this issue is in phonon-backend-gstreamer, as the
phonon-backend-vlc works fine.

[Bug 785833] [NEW] ubuntuone-syncdaemon crashes system, disables nautilus and makes banshee not see external music players

2011-05-20 Thread Jonas Obrist
Public bug reported:

When ubuntuone-syncdaemon is installed and active (autostart on boot,
syncs files) it has the following results for my system:

- The syncdaemon process uses 100% of CPU all the time, causing my laptop to
overheat after a while and thus crashes the system. It also renders the system
hardly usable since the CPU is used by the syncdaemon and does not have enough
resources for the apps I need (like unity...)
- Nautilus can not be started. Sometimes it does start after (literally) hours
but it's frozen and all I can do is force quit it. Starting Nautilus from
command line does not work either
- Banshee can not see external (USB) drives with music on them like my android
phone.

When completely uninstalling ubuntu one (there seems to be no way to
stop the syncdaemon), the system works perfect again.

Is there any alternative to uninstall ubuntuone? I would love to use it,
but not at the cost of rendering my system unsuable.

These problems only started to occur after the upgrade to 11.04, and on
previous versions ubuntu one worked flawlessly.
