[Bug 313574] [NEW] Reduce sleeping in /etc/init.d/usplash:usplash_quit() for slightly faster boot
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: usplash During a bootchart analysis, I noticed that the usplash init script sleeps for 1 whole second waiting for usplash to quit in the function usplash_quit(), line 69. I reduced this to 0.1 seconds, which slightly improves my total boot time. I suggest that this is also done in the ubuntu/debian package (i.e. change "sleep 1" to "sleep 0.1"). ** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Reduce sleeping in /etc/init.d/usplash:usplash_quit() for slightly faster boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313574 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 348332] Re: [RV250] Kubuntu: X Freezes with Radeon driver EXA/XAA Composite
Hi, I have this bug on my machine (ATI Technologies Inc RV516 [Radeon X1300/X1550 Series]) as well. The attached python script (using mayavi2) reproducibly freezes X on a "standard" Kubuntu 9.04 (upgraded to from 8.04). I installed the 2.6.29-02062904 kernel from PPA, which fixes the problem. I will try the 2.6.29.5 and .6 kernels to see if the bug reappears. [Bug 348332] Re: [RV250] Kubuntu: X Freezes with Radeon driver EXA/XAA Composite
Just tried 2.6.29.5 and .6 kernels, both work fine for me, however, not the default 2.6.28 kernel... So I can also confirm what juhuu said, the 2.6.29 fix the problem. Maybe someone else can try my test-script and report his/her findings to help track down this issue. -- [RV250] Kubuntu: X Freezes with Radeon driver EXA/XAA Composite https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348332 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 348332] Re: [RV250] Kubuntu: X Freezes with Radeon driver EXA/XAA Composite
Then there must be more than one bug causing a freeze. The one that can be provoked by the script under the current jauty kerneln and was obviously fixed in kernels 2.6.29.2 .4 .5 and .6 and 2.6.31-020631rc5. Kernels in between may have reintroduced the bug, as Juhuu stated (or Juhuu's freezes came from the other bug)... The second one seems more rare (I haven't seen one yet under 2.6.29.6) and may even be totally unrelated to the kernel/ATI driver/X11... ? -- [RV250] Kubuntu: X Freezes with Radeon driver EXA/XAA Composite https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348332 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 37711] Re: Qt/SCIM broken (Cannot enter numbers in to spinbox widget)
For me, "LC_ALL=C scribus" also fixes the problem, but does not affect the program's GUI-Language (German in my case). I suggest that the Ubuntu package maintainers fix the K-Menu / Gnome- Menu entries for Scribus to e.g. "LC_ALL=C scribus-ng %f". This way, the problem is fixed for every user for now. -- Qt/SCIM broken (Cannot enter numbers in to spinbox widget) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/37711 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 37711] Re: Qt/SCIM broken (Cannot enter numbers in to spinbox widget)
Yes, you are right: The GUI Language is the expected, but the number format will not be correct. And I agree that this problem should be fixed instead of implementing the workaround. But since this bug has been pending for more than a year w/o a fix, my suggestion is that the workaround should be enabled by default so the everyday user can work with scribus. This is until there is a real fix of course. -- Qt/SCIM broken (Cannot enter numbers in to spinbox widget) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/37711 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm that the issue still persists in LO 3.4.3, see Bug 46820. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/689349 Title: [Upstream] Draw file exported to PDF have erroneous pixel-sized dots in Acroread, not in Evince To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/689349/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
