[Bug 1723987] Re: error when trying to upgrade from Xubuntu 16.04 to 17.04

2017-10-17 Thread Jon Samuels
The attached is what I get when I try do-release-upgrade in a terminal
(my username redacted). Not sure what is causing it to fail.

[Bug 438933] Re: cryptkeeper crashed with SIGSEGV in type_check_is_value_type_U()

2014-10-28 Thread Jon Samuels
This just started affecting my system (running Xubuntu 14.04) this
morning. Was working fine yesterday. It will work if launched from the
terminal, however.

[Bug 1306851] [NEW] Xubuntu 13.10 cannot run apt, get error "ERROR: Can't find the archive-keyring"

2014-04-11 Thread Jon Samuels
Public bug reported:

Every time I try to run anything involving apt-get (install, upgrade,
dist-upgrade, etc.) I get the following error:

ERROR: Can't find the archive-keyring
Is the ubuntu-keyring package installed?
dpkg: error processing apt (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
No apport report written because MaxReports is reached already
  Errors were
encountered while processing:
 apt
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I haven't deleted anything from my keyrings, and this just all of a sudden
started with no warning. Not sure what's causing it. Help would be appreciated.

[Bug 1306851] Re: Xubuntu 13.10 cannot run apt, get error "ERROR: Can't find the archive-keyring"

2014-04-12 Thread Jon Samuels
Fixed by doing the following:

- sudo mv /usr/share/keyrings/save/ubuntu-archive-keyring.gpg.backup
/usr/share/keyrings/ubuntu-archive-keyring.gpg
- sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-keyring

[Bug 1074694] Re: can't uncheck submenu items in xubuntu's main menu

2012-11-06 Thread Jon Samuels
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1069207 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069207

To add, it also will not let you check unchecked items. For instance, I
want to have the Printing application show under Sytem, but every time I
click on the check box it automatically unchecks itself a second later,
so any changes will not stick.
