[Bug 107974] Re: Evolution will not remember exchange password
I did a fresh install of intrepid (either alpha1 or alpha 2, can't remember now) and I'm still getting asked for IMAP and SMTP passwords when I first check or send mail after starting evolution (2.23.4-0ubuntu1). The password dialogue only provides an option to "Remember this password for the remainder of this session", and that does indeed happen so strictly speaking this isn't a bug so far. However I also have "Remember password" checked in the mail account preferences, for both IMAP and SMTP. I guess that's supposed to make it remember the password across sessions? It certainly seems to me that there ought to be a way to avoid having to type the password in every session. -- Evolution will not remember exchange password https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107974 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 251513] [NEW] Deskjet-9800 driver lacks A3 option
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hpijs-ppds After attaching Deskjet 9800 printer to my laptop running intrepid alpha2, printer installs smoothly but there is no A3 option listed among the media sizes (in "Printer Options"). Not entirely sure if that's down to hpijs-ppds or I might've reported this under the wrong package. If I got it right the version is 2.8.6+2.8.6-1ubuntu3. The default /etc/cups/ppd/Deskjet-9800.ppd has A3 listed as a FoomaticRIPOptionSetting but it's missing throughout the rest of the ppd. Attached version of the ppd fixes the problem, although some of my dimension settings are a bit of a guess. I have a feeling the ppd is auto generated so that might not be a great help but might help identify the problem. [Bug 205478] Re: Can't switch between consoles
In case anyone's interested, I've now got a different laptop and I don't see this problem anymore so I guess it's related to the hardware. -- Can't switch between consoles https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205478 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 205478] Re: Can't switch between consoles
Doesn't look like anyone cares about this, but as a special added extra feature I thought I'd point out that Ctrl+Alt+F9 dumps you at a blank console without even a login prompt. The only way out is Ctrl+Alt+Delete (or a hard reset). Awesome. If ubuntu's going to make text consoles unusable (which I would very much prefer it if it didn't) then it should probably disable them entirely. -- Can't switch between consoles https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205478 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 61827] Re: Wireless on Amilo M7440 doesn't work: needs module fsm7440
As far as I know the 7440 rfkill hardware is different from anything supported in the kernel, including anything to do with the 7400. The fsam7440 module above isn't integrated into the kernel's rfkill subsystem so I don't think it'd be accepted upstream. Looking at that module, the actual code to turn wifi off and on is trivial, but it needs someone schooled in the ways of the kernel rfkill subsystem to get it integrated. -- Wireless on Amilo M7440 doesn't work: needs module fsm7440 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/61827 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 78923] Firewire audio requires excessive user permissions
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: udev At the moment, the freebob jack driver works by accessing /dev/raw1394, which requires the user to be in the 'disk' group. I notice there's also udev rules for /dev/video1394*, which gets set to the video group. The comments in /etc/udev/rules.d/40-permissions.rules imply it's less scarily privileged than /dev/raw1394. Any possibility of a /dev/audio1394 which would get set to the audio group, so normal users can access firewire audio devices? I don't really understand the implications of all this, but one way or another it seems to me that normal users should be able to use firewire audio without being in the disk group. I'm using a current Feisty. By the way I'm impressed that it mostly works in feisty already - good work everyone. ** Affects: udev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Firewire audio requires excessive user permissions https://launchpad.net/bugs/78923 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
