I too have the same problem. After a couple of days mouse clicks stop working while the mouse pointer continues to respond. The keyboard works fine. Unplugging/re-plugging the mouse has no effect. Unfortunately, it takes days for the mouse to stop responding, so I will not be able to attach diff files until later. Note, I am using the Logitech USB mouse. OK, just had the problem occur again. Absolutely no diff in dmesg or Xorg.0.log. Can still navigate with the keyboard. xmodmap and xev show nothing funky (xev does not receive mouse events). It appears no app knows anything about the mouse (pointer does not change over window edges/firefox links), but the pointer does move. This was triggered by opening a firefox window and gnucash...this is what triggered it the last time it happened too, but the problem does not always involve gnucash (firefox is pretty much always open). I have never seen anything like this. OK, all base files are attached now. I can't think of a reason to attach the diff files that say "identical," so I won't.
