[Bug 336006] [NEW] Unable to burn DVD+R with growisofs
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dvd+rw-tools I recently changed my DVD burner (for a LG GH22NS40). Since then, I haven't been able to burn any DVD+R with growisofs. I can still burn DVD+R with Wodim without any problem. [Bug 551719] Re: MD_AUTODETECT=y kernel option is obsolete (boot delay and udev/mdadm (raid) disturbance)
The problem this bug report is about is "boot delay and udev/mdadm (raid) disturbance". As such, it is a duplicate of #942106. Then the bug report offers an explanation and a solution. The MD autodetection only occurs when md drivers are statically compiled (see https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/md.txt). The Ubuntu MD drivers are compiled as mdules, so will not be automatically detected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/551719 Title: MD_AUTODETECT=y kernel option is obsolete (boot delay and udev/mdadm (raid) disturbance) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/551719/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 942106] Re: mdadm-functions missing udevadm settle (?)
An explanation: md detection and assembly is done by udev. Each time a linux_raid partition is detected, udev calls mdadm to do an incremental assembly. But nothing is done to be sure incremental assembly is over before trying to mount the root partition. This modification makes the "/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local- premount/mdadm" wait for the end of the incremental assembly before moving over. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/942106 Title: mdadm-functions missing udevadm settle (?) I was able to test this patch using the following method: I added a printed line before and after the "wait_for_udev" command.
