[Bug 174214] Re: [Hardy] xserver-xorg can't generate configuration file

2008-03-07 Thread James Miller
Same issue here with today's (2/23/08) daily build of Hardy for AMD64.
Fresh install, enable Nvidia restricted driver, run 'sudo dpkg-
reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg' immediately returns the post-install
warning about overwriting a customized xorg. Running dexconf directly
does reset the xorg.conf file, running dpkg-reconfigure -phigh after
this still goes straight to the post-install warning. Running dpkg-
reconfigure without -phigh goes through the keyboard questions, then
spits out the warning without ever getting to the adapter/screen
sections.

[Bug 1705957] [NEW] Something is wrong with the SDL2 library and its headers

2017-07-23 Thread James Miller
Public bug reported:

May also touch libsdl2-dev library.

Cannot get SDL2 to work.

Below is an example c file that calls the SDL2 library.

EXPECTED: a window with a red rectangle in it.

ACTUAL RESULTS: Instead, the background of the existing windows or
desktop shows through and no rectangle pops up.

BEGIN CODE

#include

int main()
{
  SDL_Window *window;
  SDL_Surface *surface;
  SDL_Rect rect = {0, 0, 200, 200};

  SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_EVERYTHING);

  window = SDL_CreateWindow("test", SDL_WINDOWPOS_UNDEFINED,
SDL_WINDOWPOS_UNDEFINED, 800, 600, SDL_WINDOW_SHOWN);
  if (!window) {
fprintf(stderr, "main: %s\n", SDL_GetError());
return -1;
  }

  surface = SDL_GetWindowSurface(window);
  if (!surface) {
fprintf(stderr, "main: %s\n", SDL_GetError());
return -1;
  }

  SDL_FillRect(surface, &rect, 0x);
  SDL_UpdateWindowSurface(window);
  SDL_Delay(1000);

  SDL_DestroyWindow(window);
  SDL_Quit();
}
END CODE

How to build:  gcc example.c -lSDL2 -o example.out

The same issue happens on Debian Unstable. I also fired up a Fedora
instance and the above code compiled and worked as expected. Just not on
Debian Unstable or Ubuntu 17.04.

Here are all the various SDL packages installed at the moment:

[Bug 495066] Re: Lucid netbook-launcher segfaults when started

2010-10-06 Thread James Miller
I am encountering this bug in the latest version of netbook remix. On
initial install it worked fine, when I installed fglrx, netbook remix
started to segfault. I can otherwise use the system fine, just netbook-
launcher is failing.

[Bug 1706409] Re: should be possible to disable certbot cron job

2017-10-06 Thread Dave James Miller
I have the same problem - I'm trying to make sure Apache and MySQL are
reloaded after the renewal happens so they pick up the new SSL
certificate. (I don't know if that's handled by this package already,
but I haven't seen anything to indicate it is - there's no post-renew
hook in the cron job.)

Note: There's also /lib/systemd/system/certbot.timer that needs to be
disabled if systemd is used (on Xenial at least).

[Bug 1706409] Re: should be possible to disable certbot cron job

2017-10-06 Thread Dave James Miller
I think I've found a solution (for my issue at least):

# certbot --version
certbot 0.17.0

# cat /etc/letsencrypt/cli.ini
deploy-hook = /srv/letsencrypt-post-renew.sh

# certbot renew --dry-run
...
Dry run: skipping deploy hook command: /usr/sbin/service apache2 reload
...

In later versions it looks like there is a standard location for these hooks -
/etc/letsencrypt/renewal-hooks/deploy - but this isn't mentioned in the 0.17
docs so I think it was added in a later version.

Still, more control over the cron job would be nice - especially as the
official docs (and most tutorials) assume the user is going to set up their own
cron job (and I haven't been able to find any documentation that says the
Ubuntu package is different and will do it for you).

2017-10-06 Thread Dave James Miller
(Sorry can't edit my comment - the output of renew that I pasted doesn't
match the cli.ini contents because I ran them at different times and
forgot I'd changed it from one to the other!)
