[Bug 260252] Re: When the display reoslution falls to 640x480 the "Monitor Resolution Settings" cannot be used to restore a higher resolution
This highly frustrating problem is equally present on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid. Can a general solution be found - such as whenever the height of a window exceeds the height of the screen, automatically present a scrollbar to enable accessing the bottom part of the window? (same thing applies for the width) Nb. the command line workaround that got me out of this trap was: xrandr -s 800x600 (another related Bug #8629)? -- When the display reoslution falls to 640x480 the "Monitor Resolution Settings" cannot be used to restore a higher resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260252 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

...by the way, you fall into this trap as easily as: * Open the 'Screen Resolution' dialog * Select 640x480 * Click Apply now you are stuck...

[Bug 69023] Re: ppscsi won't build with module-assistant under kernel 2.6.17-10-generic
Hi, This bug is still outstanding after a whole year.. The ppscsi modules failed to compile and were unusable on 'edgy' and then 'feisty' and now the upcoming 'gutsy' too. There are more errors under 'feisty' and 'gusty' due to further kernel internal api changes in 2.6.20. I have made a patch to fix this for these recent kernels and am trying to contact the upstream source maintainer to get this incorporated. The patch allows me to correctly use my HP Scanjet 5100c scanner. - What needs to be done to get this fixed before the 'gutsy' release? - Isn't there some kind of 'automated build tester' for the 'module-assistant' package such that if any of the source packages it controls fails to build then the whole package is flagged as needing attention? (just seems like a basic quality control issue to be continuously shipping packages that fail to build) Jon -- ppscsi won't build with module-assistant under kernel 2.6.17-10-generic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/69023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 44699] Re: CPU frequency scaling isnt workin
I have exactly the same problem.. under edgy (2.6.17-11-generic) and under feisty (2.6.20-11-generic). I know the 'powernow-k8' module used to successfully load on this same CPU/Motherboard/BIOS (Athlon64 3000+ / MSI K8T Neo2 FIR) in an older version of Ubuntu.. (I'm guessing that was breezy, but not 100% sure).. so it's definitely a regression. -- CPU frequency scaling isnt workin https://launchpad.net/bugs/44699 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 44699] Re: CPU frequency scaling isnt workin
... ps. the edgy kernel was 'amd64' variety, the feisty kernel is 'x86' variety, both produce the same error: powernow-k8: Found 1 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ processors (version 2.00.00) powernow-k8: BIOS error - no PSB or ACPI _PSS objects -- CPU frequency scaling isnt workin https://launchpad.net/bugs/44699 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 545751] Re: Network error when trying hotmail.com
Problem still exists.. I'm hitting it too using Ubuntu 10.04 amd64. ..and the temporary workaround (killall telepathy-butterfly) works here too. -- Network error when trying hotmail.com https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/545751 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 43066] Re: Window list behaves bad when panel is vertical.
This is also presents a big Ubuntu usability issue for me too.. I have spent years placing the taskbar/window list on the left hand side in Windows, where it works sensibly and flawlessly (makes it much easier to work with a large number of open windows).. have never seen it work under Ubuntu. Hate to say it, but it's the same old story, bug reports for basic functionality issues that languish for years.. very off- putting for newcomers to Ubuntu. -- Window list behaves bad when panel is vertical. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/43066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
