[Bug 250370] Re: Ubuntu 8.04: No sound on T43
Hey, I know this probably sounds dumb... but have you checked the playback levels using ALSA mixer? Try maxing the audio levels as well as muting/unmute. Sometimes the devices initialize with mute on. Even if alsamixer says the channels are unmuted try muting and unmuting. Another thing you can try is lsmod which will show you which modules ALSA is depending on... Although it looks like you have playable devices... ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None => alsa-driver -- Ubuntu 8.04: No sound on T43 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/250370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 229159] Re: Hardy crashes - requires hard reset
Hello, May I suggest you turn on S.M.A.R.T in your BIOS. This feature will watch you hard-drive to see if it is starting to fail. When the fault happens again, I would check to see if the S.M.A.R.T. feature is reporting problems with the device. I am not suggesting this is an HD problem, however based upon what you have stated above I would also not rule it out. If you have any critical data on this drive I would be sure to backup immediately. Some other things I would check would include: 1) Check the cables to the drive. Are they damaged? Installed securely? 2) Remove any other IDE device on the chain to see if the problem repeats. 3) Check to see if you have master/slave or c/s (cable select). I've always preferred to specifically set the master and slave device. These are just things to try and help rule out a hardware problem. [Bug 1686192] [NEW] DHCP Relay not sending DHCP OFFER packets
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu Server 17-04. DNSMASQ version 2.76-5 DHCP Relay option for DNSMASQ appears to be broken. The syslog states the file is allocating an IP address but TCPDUMP shows no DHCP OFFER is ever sent out on the receiving interface. Configuration is included with the bug report. [Bug 1004911] Re: After upgrade 12.04 Nautilus won't launch
Ok. Found anouther symptom. This doesn't appear to be a nautalis bug. When I run gedit I don't get a window. My display is set correctly. jkary@jkary-ubu2:~/src/ubuntu/nautilus/src$ echo $DISPLAY :0 jkary@jkary-ubu2:~/src/ubuntu/nautilus/src$ gedit ^C jkary@jkary-ubu2:~/src/ubuntu/nautilus/src$ xterm ^Cjkary@jkary-ubu2:~/src/ubuntu/nautilus/src$ echo $DISPLAY :0 jkary@jkary-ubu2:~/src/ubuntu/nautilus/src$ gedit -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1004911 Title: After upgrade 12.04 Nautilus won't launch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1004911/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 583372] Re: Using default schemas included with slapd installation does not work.
Hi, I tried running the command sudo dpkg-reconfigure slapd and selected "yes" to ommit and re-ran the program to select "No" and yes the NEXT prompt. (This was not clear as the omit part didn't really make sense to me.) After I got the database cleared I added core, cosine, inetorgperson and nis ldif files. The core file was needed (/etc/ldap/schema/core.ldif) as the DB was now empty. Now I'm stuck trying to add db.ldif. $> sudo ldapadd -Y EXTERNAL -H ldapi:/// -f db.ldif SASL/EXTERNAL authentication started SASL username: gidNumber=0+uidNumber=0,cn=peercred,cn=external,cn=auth SASL SSF: 0 adding new entry "cn=module{0},cn=config" ldap_add: Naming violation (64) $> I have the same hw config amd/64 and I'm running 10.04. Thoughts?
