One more comment. Closing FF fixes the problem. This problem is related
to flash-plugin probably.

My observation is:
1. our AD domain controller locks my account after 3 unsuccessfull logins.
2. When I enter wrong password evolution tries to perform HTTP request on
exchange server about 1000 times.
2a. No error message is generated
2b. My domain account gets locked, this prevents me from being able enter
valid password
2c. Each HTTP request opens a new tcp socket, without closing it
3. The only way how to recover from this state is: "killall evolution; rm -rf
~/.evolution ~/.gconfd" and setup of new account then.

[Bug 385562] Re: evolution-exchange hungs

2009-07-30 Thread Ivan Brezina
I just went through glib2 sources and now I am quite sure, that this is
a bug in glib2 not in evolution.

The man page for poll says: "On success, a positive number is returned;
this is the number of structures which have non-zero revents fields (in
other words, those descriptors with events or errors reported)". So if
the peer closes a TCP connection while the thread is waiting for poll,
then the poll call "succeeds" - it returns positive number 1. The errno
is set on affected fd - POLLNVAL or other flag is set.

Unfortunately there is no code in glib2(gmain.c gpoll.c) that handles
such a situation. I guess that the function g_main_context_check should
if there is really something to read from the socket and possibly remove
failed/closed TCP connection from the fd list.

[Bug 385562] [NEW] evolution-exchange hungs

2009-06-10 Thread Ivan Brezina
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 9.04
Release:9.04
evolution-exchange: 2.26.0-0ubuntu3

This is probably not a bug on evolution-exchange, maybe root cause is insanity
of glib itself.
Strace for evolution-exchange shows this:

As you see here, there is no socket no 24, but even of there is no socket no.
24 evolution process tries continuesly
loop through pool and read. I wander why is it trying to read from socket no. 3
if the pool syscall returned an error.

[Bug 1487707] [NEW] QMenu aboutToShow signal is not sent

2015-08-22 Thread Ivan Brezina
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 15.04 dynamic menu changes are not reflected in QT4/QT5 applications.
Attached sample application enables/disables menu items before menu is shown,
but this does not work when global menu is used.
It can be compiled by both qmake(qt5) and qmake-qt4. Since aboutToShow signal
is not delivered to the application, it can not dynamically adjust QMenu fields.

Moreover I noticed that env. varible APPMENU_DISPLAY_BOTH=1 works only
with qt4 applications.

indicator-appmenu: 15.02.0+15.04.20150302-0ubuntu1
appmenu-qt: 0.2.7+14.04.20140305-0ubuntu2
appmenu-qt5: 0.3.0+15.04.20150121-0ubuntu3
