Thank you soo much Jools! Now I don't have to use Wicd anymore, it's
working great!

[Bug 877706] Re: In unity-2d gedit from dash does not show window the first time

2012-01-07 Thread Isak Enström
This bug is bugging(!) me too. Every time gedit has been closed it has to be
opened twice from the dash for the window to appear. Opening from the terminal
or from nautilus always works the first time.
This only happens in Unity 2D.

Ubuntu 11.10 i386
unity-2d - 4.12.0-0ubuntu1.1
gedit - 3.2.3-0ubuntu0.1

[Bug 950680] Re: WIreless network device not managed

2012-03-09 Thread Isak Enström
I've only tested 12.04 beta1 from a live USB stick, but there definitely
seem to be a problem when connecting to a wireless network with the
ipw2200 driver. I have never before had any troubles with wireless in
Ubuntu since I started using it in 2008. The wireless interface is named
eth1 and it's been that way since 8.04

I'm suspecting that my issues are related to this since nm-applet
crashes when I try to connect to a wireless network from the control
panel app (gnome-nettool?) When clicking the network indicator all
secured networks are 'greyed out' and only unsecured networks are
clickable.

If I create a new network connection by running 'nm-connection-editor'
and manually enter my details I get connected, so the hardware is
working at least.

[Bug 908380] Re: [ipw2200] nm-applet crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()

2012-03-10 Thread Isak Enström
#18 Péter Trombitás,

That is an excellent description of my problem as well. I've only tested
12.04 beta1 from a live USB stick, but I have never before had any
troubles with wireless in Ubuntu since I started using it in 2008. The
ipw2200 driver is used and the adapter is called eth1 but that's been
the case since 8.04. I've installed wicd as well and managed to set up a
connection without any problems.

[Bug 908380] Re: [ipw2200] nm-applet crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()

2012-03-19 Thread Isak Enström
#47:
For me, Wicd manages to connect to WPA secured networks, so either it "guesses"
that the device supports it or it gets the info in another way.
