[Bug 272510] [NEW] gnome panel crashes and no way to restart it without console

2008-09-20 Thread IsTI37
Public bug reported:

The problem persisted when my gnome panel hanged up when I tryed to set
the lower panel to hide itself and I could not restart it without
console and without restarting X.

Firstly I tried to press Alt+f2 to kill gnome panells and I discovered
that it's related to gnome panels because it not worked.

After that I pressed Alt+F1 to enter a console and I logged in. After I
wrote in killall gnome-panel, X hanged up (restarted) when I entered
back to 7.

X has restarted after I gave the 'shutdown 0' command in 1...

Don't ask why I didn't wanted to restart X. Just I don't wanted.
But it's a little problem which should be fixed. Why gnome panels are crashing
and there is no button to restart it ?

My suggestion is to add a refresh command to desktop like in windows. Or
somewhere else. But please add a refresh command to get gnome-panels
back.

Thanks very much, I hope that in ubuntu 8.10 a refresh command will be
included to restart gnome-panels.

[Bug 272510] Re: gnome panel crashes and no way to restart it without console

2008-09-20 Thread IsTI37
Added more information :

I am using ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy), I have the default applets from installation
(nothing else) and the panels turned white when I tried to set the lower panel
to hide itself automatically. I could not enter a console because I didn't had
a shortcut on my desktop. I didn't checked why it occured, but probabilly other
people will have problems with this. I have the drivers installed (Nvidia
173.14.12), I am using compiz... (ccsm set to easy for eyes), I have 1 gb
memory and an Intel Celeron 2.53 Ghz Processor.
I checked for the ~/.xsession-errors file but I have to wait until gnome panel
crashes again. My desktop and applications were fine.
(pidgin, firefox, transmission and screenlets) Only my panels turned white.

Obviously it turned white for me and it hasn't restarted. I wanted to
terminate it but I could not terminate it because I didn't had a console
to kill it. (That's the main problem)

(I will update with xsession-errors when it crashes again )

[Bug 498130] Re: Emerald crashes when selecting themes. Ubuntu 10.04 (Alpha1)

2010-05-03 Thread IsTI37
Confirmed.
In 10.04 after update it crashes with the
Gtk:ERROR:/build/buildd/gtk+2.0-2.20.0/gtk/gtkfilesystemmodel.c:330:node_set_visible:
assertion failed: (row < model->files->len) error.
We have to stick at GTK Window Decorator for now.

Temporary solution :
Use audacious and switch the output to OSS.
The sound will be lower in quality but it won't be choppy.

[Bug 464005] [NEW] kubuntu 9.10 can't login with dsl (pppoe) or atleast it's too hard for me to get it working from the interface

2009-10-29 Thread IsTI37
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I've installed kubuntu 9.10 a hour ago and when I to start my internet
connection it does nothing.
I have been clicking and checking my data but I gave up and tried pppoeconf,
now I am stil on kubuntu, it's really nice and in comparison to Suse it's
extremely fast.

The main problem is that I can't get my pppoe connection working from the
interface.
However, i fixed this problem with the console.

I remember that I didn't put a password for the wallet when he asked me, I just
clicked Create and I tried to connect.
It's it an issue ?

I got another bug which is related to my usb stick, because kubuntu 9.10
doesn't recognize it but ubuntu 9.04 does.

Thank you.

[Bug 363695] Re: update-apt-xapian-index uses too much CPU

2011-05-16 Thread IsTI37
Fix released ?

I installed and did all the upgrades Ubuntu Natty had.
But, update-apt-xapian-index when it launches uses 100% of my cpu.

I have an Intel Celeron 2.66 Ghz processor and this totally kills it,
it's worse than with Vista, huge bug.
