As a consequence, I cannot connect to the account for synchronizing data. Hi Mitch, sorry for being silent for such a long time, there were so many other things to do (besides computer). In the meanwhile I looked for other user's experience and tried out to delete the Ubuntu One account and all files locally. These attempts got stuck too, but I decided that I do not need disk space in the network so urgently. Thanks for your help offer anyway.
