Hello Sebastien, thank you for your feedback!! Have you got any
information about patching this bug?
I understand that is a minor bug but this applet is very useful for me.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation

Re: [Bug 486154] Re: System beep broken in Karmic despite heroic efforts to fix it

2009-12-11 Thread Il_Gattusso
Some more clarification:

1. Starting from ubuntu version 9.10 the system beep has been replaced
from a sound coming from the sound card.
2. If you load the module pcspkr you can ear a sound coming from the pc
speaker but the system don't use it (only at the shut down or with the
beep command)
3. If you load the module snd_pcsp you can ear a beep coming from the
suond card but the system don't use it (only at the shut down or with
the beep command)
4. In my case the sound coming from the sound card was missing (point 1)
and it works only if you disable compiz so I have to understand why
compiz stops that sound.

Any suggestion?

[Bug 493127] [NEW] system beep missing

2009-12-06 Thread Il_Gattusso
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apport

Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit - kernel 2.6.31
After distribution upgrade from ubuntu 9.04 I noticed the system beep was
replaced by a system sound.
After some other minor upgrades this system sound has disappeared.
>From the sound control panel you can choose and ear it but the system doesn't
>use it so:
no sound from terminal, no sound from firefox, no sound from thunderbird.
Into the gconf-editor system beep is enabled both in metacity and compiz
settings.
All the other sounds work as in the previous version.

Re: [Bug 493127] Re: system beep missing

2009-12-07 Thread Il_Gattusso
Hello, I installed the linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic as
you requested but the system beep doesn't work the same.
The beep in the alsamixer is enabled and the volume is 100%
The sound card is integrated in the M/B and the chip is ALC662 Rev.1.
I repeat again: the driver is correct and I haven't any problem with the
other sounds. Only the system beep doesn't work

Best regards
GM
