[Bug 753602] Re: After Evolution gives notification of new mail a second evolution icon appears on the unity application bar and won't dissapear without a gdm restart
If it helps in any way I managed to correct the problem by deleting the original icon and once the icon reappears indicating incoming mail I than pin the new icon to the bar. This appeared to fix the issue. The issue also occurred with Transmission and Xchat which may suggest an issue when icons are pinned automatically following an upgrade. The same solution worked for both xchat and transmission. occurred here when I tried to switch user. When I entered the password there was no response after several minutes and no way of progressing or rolling back the process.
