[Bug 96849] Update Tool Crashed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager I tried to do an update with an installer (not live) CD. I ran apt-CD and ran the updater. It first failed because of an MD5 mismatch. I had a look at sudo aptitude dist-upgrade, and there were a lot of broken dependencies. I did not run dist-upgrade. I then reran the upgrade tool without the CD. It detected that the CD was not in, and continued. It then crashed. See below. [Bug 96849] Re: Update Tool Crashed
It would be great if the Update Manager could make it easier to detect inserted live-cds or alternate install CDs. I ran apt-cdrom, so I am not sure if the updater does that, but it would be a useful touch. I couldn't find any information about how to do an update with the CD otherwise. I will test the CD tonight to see if it's valid or if the md5 failures were a serious problem. -- Update Tool Crashed https://launchpad.net/bugs/96849 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
