[Bug 279688] Re: no X after upgrade with intel controller
I had exactly the same problem with my laptop with that chipset while uprading to Intrepid. I finally solved it by changing driver name in my xorg.conf from "i810" to "intel". See also xorg bug report https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12886 So it seems to be an configuration issue. However, as the old drver definition works with 8.04, I think that the upgrade should at least show a warning about this. -- no X after upgrade with intel controller https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279688 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, attached is the working xorg.conf for my FujitsuSiemens Lifebook P7010. As said, the only change to my Gutsy configuration was driver name [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/X11$ diff xorg.conf xorg.conf.gutsy 95c95 < Driver "intel" --- > Driver "i810" Harri pbeichert kirjoitti: > Hi Harry, > > thank you for your reply. [Bug 96480] Re: Kernel 2.6.20-13 acpi bug
I have similar problem as well (in Acer Travelmate 4502): Boot hangs while loading ACPI modules, but the actula hangup happens when loading module i2c_ec (not sbs as seems to be the case for most people in this thread). After blacklisting i2c_ec boot goes smoothly. And after system is up and running, lsmod shows that ic2_ec is loaded anyway. -- Kernel 2.6.20-13 acpi bug https://launchpad.net/bugs/96480 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
