[Bug 1574930] [NEW] kernel 4.4.0-22 Nvidia drivers 340.96 & 304.131 fail to build
Public bug reported: Using Yakkety Yak. Received today's (26/04/2016) update which included kernel 4.4.0-22. Using Nvidia driver 340.96 which failed to build causing the restart to load to a low resolution login screen with login bounce. Purged Nvidia and loaded with Nouveau and tried with Nvidia 304.131 and have got the same error. Video Adapter GT220 considered obsolete by Nvidia & not supported by newest Nvidia drivers. [Bug 930491] Re: Large memory leak in nm-applet
I have the same problem. The top command shows nm-applet starting below 2% memory usage of 1GB memory and slowly rising over time. I have recorded nm-applet memory usage at plus 26% of 1GB of RAM. At plus 9% memory usage the network app indicator menu becomes unresponsive. It is not possible to disconnect either the wired or wireless connection, or disable networking or wireless. Clicking on these lines in the menu has no effect. It is still possible to disconnect using the slider options in the System Settings Network utility but once switched off by using that utility wired or wireless connections cannot be switched back on using the network app-indicator menu but only by the System Settings Netwrok utility. Furthermore, if the menu is left open it blinks out of existence and then re-appears and does this frequently but not rapidly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930491 Title: Large memory leak in nm-applet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/930491/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Pressing Next or Pause/Play without a sufficient interval of time, or trying to move the track further along in the stream causes the application window panel to go grey and a Force Quit is required to close the program. [Bug 1041354] Re: unity-panel-service since yesterday uses ~100% CPU when libreoffice-gtk is installed and enabled
I have this on a fresh install from the 29/08/2012 ISO image. Using the top command and system monitor i saw that when Libreoffice (Writer) is loaded it loads soffice.bin and something called unity-panel-ser. Close Libreoffice and unity-panel-ser disappears from the top readout. When unity-panel-ser firsts loads it uses 30% CPU and 3% MEM. After 1 minute it is at 99% CPU and 8% MEM. After 10 minute it is at 97-100% CPU and 24% MEM. It is running 1 core of this dual core CPU at 100% and the memory usage is increasing. At this point the desktop is not updating and applications windows cannot be closed nor are the menu options available. It takes a hard re- set to shutdown the system. I have not had gnome session daemon crash for a long time. In the past it was due to obsolete packages and so was not reportable, but easily fixed. [Bug 631865] Re: ubuntu-sso-login crashed with DBusException in __new__()
I am using 12.10 Precise. I logged in and saw that the LightDM theme was still active. I gave the Gnome-settings daemon time to activate as it sometimes corrects itself. I then got the Gnome-settings-daemon has closed unexpectedly message. I upgraded the relevant library (libgdk- pixbuf2.0-0) and logged out and back in to re-start the Gnome-settings daemon which seemed to fix the problem. [Bug 1069451] Re: Launcher and global menu bar get invisible after a program is minimized from full screen mode
On Ubuntu+1 section of Ubuntu forums I was asked to check if this bug had been fixed in Raring Ringtail 13.04. It has not been fixed. Tested with Firefox. F11 maximizes Firefox and f11 restores Firefox but when Firefox is minimized using the icon in the top right corner of the maximized window (do not know a keyboard shortcut for this) then Firefox minimizes and the global menu and the launcher disappear even when autohide is turned off. When the mouse pointer is clicked in the area of the notification icons. Then the icons appear and can be accessed. The menus remain available. The Launcher also appears but is inactive until the notification menus disappear and then the Launcher hides. As Firefox is number 2 in the Launcher - pressing Super+2 will un- minimize Firefox and if it is then restored the global menu and the Launcher reappear. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069451 Title: Launcher and global menu bar get invisible after a program is minimized from full screen mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1069451/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 965262] [NEW] Sound is muted by default on the live CD making the screen reader ineffective
Public bug reported: I am doing ISO testing of 12.04 amd64 pre-beta 2. I am running test case ID: uai-001 Desktop Accessibility (ubiquity). Here is the link to the test case as required by QA . http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Install/DesktopLiveSession Stage 2: Wait for the drums. Stage 3: Press Ctrl+S to start the screen reader. Sound is muted by default on the live CD. There for there is no drum sound. Pressing Ctrl+S does indeed activate Orca the screen reader but Orca is ineffective because the sound is muted by default. It requires a mouse action to unmute sound. This is not acceptable for an accessibility option. Sound is still muted at the live Desktop top. There should be available at the Ubuntu Welcome dialog the ability to set a sound level by using the arrow keys. This would make Ubuntu accessible to visually impaired people as it is intended to be. In terms of the number of people effected this is a trivial bug because few visually impaired people will be using computers. In terms of Ubuntu failing to be accessible to the many visually impaired people this bug is major. I cannot send by ISO test results to QA without there being a bug report to link it too. [Bug 739599] Re: update-manager crashed with AssertionError in saveDistUpgrade()
This is a 12.04 that was converted from an 11.10 back in November. It is modified to be my daily working install. I update it daily. The last update being very early morning on Monday 19th March. Please use the package manager "Synaptic" or run "sudo apt-get install-f in a terminal to fix this issue at first. It occurs to me that the two 12.04 installs may have different mirrors. The 11.10 converted 12.04 has datahop uk as the server. The default 12.04 will have the server put in place by the install.
