[Bug 349479] [NEW] [Jaunty] partitioner doesn't fit on screen with large number of partitions

2009-03-27 Thread Glenn Holmer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

When installing Jaunty beta on a machine with a large number of
partitions, the graphic representation at the top of the screen extends
past the right edge of the screen, which apparently causes some of the
buttons to be offscreen at the bottom right. There is no way to
complete partitioning; the buttons to proceed are not visible and even
keyboard shortcuts can't be used because there is no way to tell what
keys to use.

I recommend this be triaged as critical, as there is no way to complete
installation using the graphic installer on a machine with many
partitions.

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 150918] Re: Setting the number of workspaces under compiz does not also set the keybindings

2009-03-27 Thread Glenn Holmer
Also seeing it in Jaunty beta. Workaround to edit config file in apps /
metacity / global_keybindings does not work for me.

The monitor is a Benq FP731 17" LCD with resolution of 1280x1024; that
is the resolution it was set to after completing an "alternate" install.

[Bug 1437260]

2015-11-20 Thread Glenn Holmer
Still seeing this in F23 KDE spin with all patches applied (NVidia
GeForce GTX 650). Also seeing it on a machine with GeForce GT630 and on
a ThinkPad T410 with NVidia GT218M [NVS3100M]. All three are using the
nouveau driver. I see what's in attachment 89829.

This is basic functionality for a desktop environment. Why hasn't it
been fixed? It makes Plasma look amateurish.

[Bug 1305789] [NEW] kded4 crashed with SIGSEGV in KScreenDaemon::monitorConnectedChange()

2014-04-10 Thread Glenn Holmer
Public bug reported:

Happens when starting vnc4server like this:

su $USER1 -l -s /bin/bash -c \
"vncserver :1 -geometry 1024x768 -depth 24 -name $SESSION_NAME" 2>&1

where $USER1 is the name of a user and $SESSION_NAME is the hostname of
the VM with "1" or "2" appended.

~/.vnc/xstartup contains just the single line:

. /etc/X11/Xsession

I tried it also with "startkde" and got the same result.

[Bug 662176] [NEW] Installer Crashed

2010-10-17 Thread Glenn Holmer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Installing Kubuntu 10.10 across two drives: /boot in /dev/sda15 (ext2)
and / in /dev/sdb2 (XFS). Told installer to put GRUB boot sector in
/dev/sda15 (not /dev/sda). Installer status bar says 'Running "update-
grub"...66%' and a dialog appeared saying "Installer Crashed" and
directing me to file a new bug.
