I don't think it is only a hardy kernel kvm bug only. A french blogger tested alpha1 in virtual box and had to disable acpi to make it work a little. Just my 0.02 euro / dollar here. I think it could be a bad bad bad idea not to include OOo 3.0 in Intrepid because all major distros this fall will include it : mandriva 2009.0 done it, Fedora 10 will do it. Not doing it could be bad advertising. Or at least, providing a meta packages explaining that user could have it without trouble. When i will upgrade to Intrepid with a clean install (nearly 7 months of hardy on my computer let some cadavers) I will kick out OOo 2.4.1 and install official openoffice.org deb on it, as I've done for Hardy. It takes 5 minutes to do, and OpenOffice.org - even if it is not completely visually merged in ubuntu theme is usable. Everybody is free to use which version it wants to use. But Intrepid will be in some part a bad release, such as the worst idea I've seen for a long time : removing ath5k module from kernel because it helped me having wifi working flawlessly. Public bug reported: I was testing today a nightly (29 september one) in a virtual box machine. After installing, I wanted to see if I can easily built Shiretoko (Firefox 3.1) source code. To do so, I typed in a terminal : sudo apt-get build-dep firefox And all packages were installed. But later, as I wanted to install firefox-dev packages, apt-get told me that the previous packages were unused and could be removed using autoremove option.
