[Bug 928313] [NEW] Horizontal scrolling inverted for Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth

2012-02-07 Thread Frans Gifford
Public bug reported:

Horizontal scrolling by tilting the mouse wheel is backwards for
Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth. xev reports tilt left as
button 7 and tilt right as button 6, but tilting left scrolls right and
tilting right scrolls left.

This used to work correctly on oneiric. I'm using Kubuntu, in case it's
possible that something in KDE might cause this ;-)

[Bug 908008] Re: vlc crashed with SIGABRT in __gnu_cxx::__verbose_terminate_handler()

2012-02-08 Thread Frans Gifford
Reproductions steps from duplicate bug #924847:

Crash occurred after:

* Open playlist.
* Add directory from mounted Samba share to playlist.
* Quickly skip through the files by double-clicking them in the playlist.

The files are each playable in VLC from the network share, this bug
occurs reliably if I change files too quickly.

[Bug 921139] Re: mouse scroll left<->right inverted since 1.11

2012-02-28 Thread Frans Gifford
Upstream bug #45614 is a duplicate of upstream bug #46205. Launchpad is
showing the status of 45614 ('invalid' as it's a duplicate) rather than
that of 46205 ('New'). This is misleading as the bug /is/ valid, so I'm
manually updating the reference to upstream and will report a bug
against launchpad.

[Bug 885956] Re: unmute doesn't work anymore

2012-03-01 Thread Frans Gifford
The magic word in #9 'PlaybackInternalAudioAnalogStereoPulseAudioMixer' did not
work for me. Instead I did this:
 * Install xfce4-mixer (if it isn't installed already)
 * Check the settings editor for the /sound-cards property, or run
`xfconf-query -c xfce4-mixer -l`
 * Set active-card to the name under /sound-cards. In my case "active-card" was
set to "PlaybackBuiltinAudioAnalogueStereoPulseAudioMixer"

Fans of copy/paste can use this line to do all of the above:

xfconf-query -c xfce4-mixer -p /active-card -s `xfconf-query -c
xfce4-mixer -l | sed 's,/sound-cards/,, ;t; d'`
