[Bug 1890858] Re: AppArmor profile causes QEMU/KVM - Not Connected
I had the issue on an install of: DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS" I followed the "fix" in the URL previously posted and symlinked the libvirt profile into the apparmor disable directory, and everything worked. In an attempt to recreate, I removed the symlink and rebooted, verified apparmor is still enforcing the libvirtd profile, but I no longer have the issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1890858 Title: AppArmor profile causes QEMU/KVM - Not Connected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1890858/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

New to running Linux, I was running it under wubi. As soon as Windows crashed and I formatted my drive and installed Linux Mint ONLY, the problem was no more =) Thanks though. Re: [Bug 883812] Re: mouse cursor wigs out
Thank you for responding. I'll try to do a better job of being as specific as I can. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem; This doesn't happen every time, but the way I see it it shldn't happen at all. I boot up. After logging in, the mouse cursor's in the middle of the screen, as it shld be. 2. the behavior you expected; I expected the mouse cursor to act normal =) 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible); When I try to navigate my mouse cursor, it "skitters" all over the screen. When I say "skittering", I mean the mouse cursor moves abt like a drop of water on a red hot skillet. I have zero control over it. I can't even navigate the cursor to the shutdown/restart in the upper right screen. And as it skitters abt, it opens apps like crazy. Dozens and dozens. It stops, of course, when I stop trying to navigate it. I'm running a Sony VAIO with dual 2.0 ghz processors, 4 gigs of ram. My hardware's good. But there's something to be said abt the mouse cursor's behavior. Again, this is occasional, maybe 4 or 5 times out 10 bootups. Hope this is more useful. And thanks again for responding. Means a lot. - Original Message - From: Timothy Mayoh Sent: 10/30/11 12:56 PM To: wo...@gmx.com Subject: [Bug 883812] Re: mouse cursor wigs out Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 1745651] Re: Ubuntu suspends after login
Sorry for delay in responding. I was traveling away from system with problem. Bug did not occur in 4.13.0-31 generic Bug appeared after update to 4.13.0-32 generic Bug appears to be fixed in 4.13.0-36 generic which installed along with other updates when I returned from travel. I am relatively new to Linux & Ubuntu. The system exhibiting the problem is one I rely on for everyday work. I chose to install the "LTS" version under the assumption that it was the more stable, better tested version. I am not at all familiar with the methods of installing and trying different releases and do not want to risk the system I rely on. I did discover that the "Advanced" startup options for Ubuntu allow me to run every previous version since the initial install. That allowed me to provide the information above. I hope the information provided is adequate. I will post again if the bug reappears after any future update to the LTS version. [Bug 1745651] Re: Ubuntu suspends after login
After following the emailed instruction to run apport-collect 1745651 the thought occurred that perhaps you needed that to be run immediately after power-up & login when the problem occurs. The system had been up for several days when the log files were collected. Please let me know if I need to collect & submit the log files immediately after a cold startup. Thank you for your interest in solving this bug. [Bug 1034487] [NEW] ISO disk image not read by disc Creator
Public bug reported: Trying to create a bootable USB stick (actually this is being done to recover an interupted (power line failure) upgrade to 12.04) I am able to boot my system with an alternate hard drive, and the drive is seen and the files seem present, however I need to install/reinstall a new version of 12.04. Thus the need for a bootable USB (cd drive does not work) - USB creator will find the USB stick fine, however the downloaded ISO is apparently never loaded. This might be similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-creator/+bug/500526 but I am not savvy enough to know. I have tried running disk creator from the command line but get the following floyd@DPR1500:~$ usb-creator-gtk -i ubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso isoinfo: Short read on old image Suggestion is that the iso is bad so I will download another, but any guidance would be appriciated -- I am still basically just trying to recover the system from a poorly timed power failure. ** Affects: usb-creator (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034487 Title: ISO disk image not read by disc Creator To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-creator/+bug/1034487/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 565697] Re: nvidia dual monitor seperate x server mouse cursor gets stuck
I have a similar issue. Laptop is ASUS C90S running 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 with GeForce 8600M GT and 195.36.24 driver. With external monitor in "Separate X screen", mousepad cursor gets trapped as soon as it's moved to the external monitor desktop. Oddly, my wireless mouse, when it's working (flaky bluetooth support!) moves effortlessly between desktops. -- nvidia dual monitor seperate x server mouse cursor gets stuck https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/565697 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1300004] Re: gedit does not elevate privileges while it's being launched
Old version of gedit that installed by default in Ubuntu 18.04.3 clean install just done today allows saving a file or "save as" to any directory. Snap version of "Text Editor" which purports to be gedit version 3.32.0 can't save a file anywhere I've tried. The error is that I don't have permission even though I do have permission to Read AND Write files in the directories I've tried. Thinking that there may have been conflict, I uninstalled "old gedit" via sudo apt remove gedit, then uninstalled and reinstalled "New gedit" aka "Text Editor" from the Ubuntu Software app. No improvement. FWIW if it's supposed to be gedit call it gedit. Look at VLC for an example of old version and new snap version both listed and installable in the Ubuntu Software store. Choose the version you want. It's a new VERSION with a new install source not a new App. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134 Title: gedit does not elevate privileges while it's being launched To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/134/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
