[Bug 242961] Re: Please update crystalspace to 1.2.1

Looks quite good. I have a couple of questions though:
- I think if you add shlibs:Depends and misc:Depends to crystalspace-dev you
won't need to add libc-dev manually.
- Regarding "Fix script-not-executable lintian warnings." in debian/rules, do
those files need to be shipped actually? that autoconf, config.*, autogen...
looks wrong to me.

[Bug 244709] [NEW] Please sync jppy 0.0.45-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main).

2008-07-01 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort

Please sync jppy 0.0.45-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main).

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
The Unstable package doesn't hardcode python2.4 anymore.

Changelog since current intrepid version 0.0.43-1ubuntu1:

jppy (0.0.45-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream version, which now builds for all supported Python versions
and installs arch-dependent stuff to /usr/lib (closes: #488317). Thanks to
Nick Piper, who did all the work!
  * Change maintainer to the new jppy-devel mailing list.

+0200

jppy (0.0.44-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Do not limit ourselves to a single Python version (closes: #488307).
  * Fix migration from python-central to python-support and clean up after
python-central (see #479852).

 -- martin f. krafft <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Fri, 27 Jun 2008 20:45:02
+0200

jppy (0.0.44-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release (closes: #445379, #476679).
  * Completely redo the Debian packaging:
- rewrite debian/rules
- use python-support to build for the current Python version.
- jppy recommends jpilot to make the stock PDB files available.
- bump Standards-Version to 3.8.0; no changes needed.
- update Vcs-* headers to point to git.debian.org.
- add Homepage field.
- depend on python-tz, which python-jppy now uses.
- add build-dependencies on python-tz, python-pisock, python-reportlab,
  and python-vobject.
- move menu entry from Apps/Tools to Applications/Data Management as per
  the Debian menu sub-policy.

[Bug 305623] [NEW] Possible string format attack

2008-12-05 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

Binary package hint: vinagre

There's a security issue in Vinagre, where a user could cause a string
format attack.

These are the relevant upstream commits:
http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/vinagre?view=revision&revision=528 (for hardy)
http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/vinagre?view=revision&revision=525 (for intrepid
and jaunty)

The problem is in src/vinagre-utils.c @ vinagre_utils_show_error, which
is used in vinagre-commands.c @ vinagre_cmd_machine_open via
vinagre_utils_show_many_errors.

The affected releases are Hardy, Intrepid and Jaunty.

2008-12-09 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
BTW, from the backtrace in comment 3:

The program 'vinagre' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.
  (Details: serial 353 error_code 1 request_code 143 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Program exited with code 01.

The problem with that is that some users install reportbug and use it to send
bugs, thinking that it will send bugs to Ubuntu, while they are sent to Debian.

I have a problem with that, but there's an easy solution: if
~/.reportbug-i_really_want_to_send_bugs_to_debian exist.

There are two different backtraces in this bug report. The one in comment 4,
which looks xulrunner related, the one in comment 12, likely a flash bug, and
the one in comment 31, which is bug 214192.

I've had Liferea crashes when opening articles with embedded flash videos. The
other two, I haven't had them, but perhaps the nsswitch can be reproducing by
adding wins to /etc/nsswitch.conf (see bug 214192, comment 8)

[Bug 203157] Re: Liferea uses a lot of CPU at times

2008-11-13 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
Yes, this is a pretty important bug, raising the severity. Not that it
will help in any way...

Upstream knows this happens for some people, and has no clue on how to
fix it. Xulrunner support has been removed from Liferea trunk, and the
next major series (1.6) will only support WebKit.

We will close this report with 1.6, but in the meantime I'm afraid
there's not much we can do, unless anybody knows how to fix it :)

[Bug 300008] Re: Missing link /usr/lib/wx/python/wx.pth

2008-11-26 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
Hi Trevor, and thanks for your report.

I've tried to reproduce this but I can't.

The right symlink is actually from /usr/lib/python2.X/site-
packages/wx.pth to /usr/lib/wx/python/wx.pth (the python2.5 one). Then,
/usr/lib/wx/python/wx.pth should point to /etc/alternatives/wx.pth,
which will point to /usr/lib/wx/python/wx2.?.pth

Can you check where /usr/lib/wx/python/wx.pth points to in your system?
Is this an upgrade from a previous Ubuntu release, or did you install it from
scratch?
Have you ever installed wxwidgets deb packages from wxwidgets.org?

[Bug 300008] Re: Missing link /usr/lib/wx/python/wx.pth

2008-11-27 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
Trevor, thanks for the detailed explanation. I've now seen that the
problem is in python-wxgtk2.4. It sets the wx.pth alternatives in a
different way. While python-wxgtk2.4 and 2.6 use it to point
/usr/lib/wx/python/wx.pth to wx2.?.pth, python-wxgtk2.4 does a totally
different thing and uses it to link /usr/lib/python2.4/site-
packages/wx.pth to /usr/lib/wx/python/wx2.?.pth, breaking it.

This likely affects Hardy, Intrepid and Jaunty, and perhaps even Gutsy
and Dapper. But I think if we fix it, we should do it just in Hardy and
beyond.

And there's just one package remaining to be transitioned to wxwidgets2.6
before we can remove wxwindows2.4 from the archive

[Bug 321473] Re: liferea doesnt handle network-manager online/offline state

So, liferea is fine, it has the correct build-dependencies et al.

The problem is that libnm-glib-dev doesn't depend on network-manager-dev as it
should, as libnm_glib.pc has:
Requires: NetworkManager >= 0.7.0 glib-2.0 dbus-glib-1

So adding a depends: network-manager-dev (>= 0.7.0) to libnm-glib-dev

[Bug 141150] Re: add search based on feed source

2009-01-29 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
We are considering this upstream, but don't think it will be very
useful.

the other rules?

[Bug 322496] Re: vinagre does not show locally-shared desktops

2009-01-29 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
The --enable-avahi configure arg is disabling it (!). Removing that from
debian/rules reenables avahi.
