[Bug 271634] Re: olive-gtk crashed with DBusException in call_blocking()
Launched olive-gtk from a terminal and it crashed (before showing the GUI). Subsequent launches did not crash. It seems like the first use jogs something loose and the it works. -- olive-gtk crashed with DBusException in call_blocking() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/271634 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 195436] Re: Compiz - no shadows
The pink shadows on menus are gone now. Must have been one of the updates since that removed them. They were replaced by a golden orange glow/shadow around top-level application windows. Disturbingly, this glow also comes and goes with no discernible pattern. [Bug 84346] Re: [RESOLVED] Font rendering bug in Gnome Control Centre sidebar
I just checked the current control center (1:2.18.0-0ubuntu1) in feisty and the bug is fixed/gone. Probably due to some changes in libslab which provides the widget in question. It's a little puzzling why it appeared in the first place because I perused the libslab code and it looked very straightforward. Anyway, bug is gone. [Bug 84346] Font rendering bug in Gnome Control Centre sidebar
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center The "Group" selection buttons in gnome-control-center render with little jagged edges, as if hinting was turned off for them. The rest of the control centre uses the desktop wide hinting (I haven't changed it from the install default). However, when I mouseover a button the rendering looks correct and as soon as the mouse leaves the button it is back to jaggies. No other button on my system behaves like that, so it doesn't appear to be a gtk bug. Always reproducible. [Bug 84346] Re: Font rendering bug in Gnome Control Centre sidebar
It's not on the "Group" label, but on the buttons in that section. From a quick glance at the code they appear to be a composite widget called a 'tile'. -- Font rendering bug in Gnome Control Centre sidebar https://launchpad.net/bugs/84346 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 84346] Re: Font rendering bug in Gnome Control Centre sidebar
Here is a screenshot. I used the screen magnifier to get a closeup of the problem. The mouse cursor was above the "System" button making it highlighted and raised. If you look at the letter 'e' in "System" and "Other" you can see that one has darker hinted pixels than the other (due to the difference in background ??). The difference makes the lettering "Other" look jagged. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot with close up of font rendering" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6439504/Screenshot.png -- Font rendering bug in Gnome Control Centre sidebar https://launchpad.net/bugs/84346 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 84346] Re: Font rendering bug in Gnome Control Centre sidebar
Well, it may be regarded as a low priority visual bug. I only reported it because it is rather jarring. The fonts are "correct" but because the hinting interacts with the darker background it essentially looks like a monochrome (black and background) font instead of having the gradations of grey that fool the eye into registering smoothness. -- Font rendering bug in Gnome Control Centre sidebar https://launchpad.net/bugs/84346 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Jelmer, does unmaintained mean that these simple fixes won't get merged ? And by "not packaged in Ubuntu" do you mean "not in main" or not at all (not in main, universe, multiverse) ? I ask because I am planning to upgrade to 10.10 but have become rather attached to using Olive as part of my workflow. -- Opening file with space in its path doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374036 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
