[Bug 259180] Re: Kubuntu is not fully translated to other languages.

2008-09-28 Thread Eduard Ereza Martínez
I can confirm the same with Intrepid on the Catalan translation. The
only strings translated are those from KDE 3.

KDE 4 translations have not been imported to Ubuntu yet. They had some
kind of strange problem with Rosetta and have to approve all changes
manually. You can get more info here: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives
/ubuntu-translators/2008-September/001663.html

Now the question is... Why isn't this bug marked as critical? The Ubuntu
Team is showing absolutely no interest in KDE nor localisation.

I hope we can get those packages updated for the final release (I
already assume we won't have them in the beta). If not, maybe it'll be
time to leave Kubuntu and search for another distribution who cares more
about people who don't speak English and who don't use Gnome.

[Bug 259180] Re: KDE translation packages (kde-l10n-xx) missing on Intrepid

2008-09-29 Thread Eduard Ereza Martínez
I request this bug to be reopened. There ARE packages on Intrepid, but
their translations are those from KDE 3. KDE 4 translations have not
been successfully imported to Rosetta, therefore, there are only few
strings translated on KDE 4.

there's no need to reopen it..

[Bug 275741] [NEW] Intrepid's KDE translations are not up-to-date

2008-09-29 Thread Eduard Ereza Martínez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde-l10n-ca

After installing Kubuntu Intrepid with language set to Catalan, most of
the applications strings are not translated. It looks like they have not
been imported to Launchpad Translations from the KDE project. The
translations now packaged are the ones for KDE 3. Therefore, all new
strings (that is, almost all strings) are not translated.

According to the Ubuntu Translators mailing list, there has been some
kind of problem importing the KDE translations to Launchpad Translations
and all of them have to be approved manually:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-
translators/2008-September/001677.html

I think it is of high priority to have all localizations available on
Intrepid, users should be able to use their applications in their
language.

I have assigned this to kde-l10n-ca because I have confirmed it with
this language. But it affects all languages, as you can see for a common
application like Konsole:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/kdebase/+pots/konsole

[Bug 67113] K Menu naming scheme changed in 3.5.5 from 3.5.4

2006-10-20 Thread Eduard Ereza Martínez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kicker

After upgrading to KDE 3.5.5 from 3.5.4, the menu scheme for "Name
(Description)" (you can choose that option from K Menu -> System
Settings -> Panel -> Panels -> Menus -> Menu item format) is not working
as expected, it's printing "Name Description". It should print, for
example, "KMix (Sound Mixer)", and it prints "KMix Sound Mixer".

If this is a feature, it's not correct for some languages. In English,
things like "KMix Sound Mixer" make sense, but in Catalan or Spanish,
and I'm sure other languages too, "KMix Mesclador de so" doesn't make
any sense. In order to be gramatically correct, it should be "Mesclador
de so KMix". To make it understandable, it would be like printing "Sound
Mixer KMix" in English.

Also, I just took a look at Edgy Live CD and Adept is shown (in English)
as "Adept Manage Packages".

Maybe this should be a feature, but it shouldn't be enabled by default
(or at least not enabled by default on languages other than English),
and an option for "Name (Description)" should be there.

[Bug 67120] [KDE 3.5.5] Device labels are not correctly displayed on desktop

2006-10-20 Thread Eduard Ereza Martínez
Public bug reported:

With KDE 3.5.4, the mounted devices were shown on the desktop using
their label, but now with KDE 3.5.5 they are shown using the name of the
device. The same happens in media:/. For example, if you inserted a CD
labeled "My CD", it showed a CD-ROM icon on the desktop named "My CD",
but now it shows a CD-ROM icon named "cdrom0".

I suppose that this is related to the media:/->/media change done in
Kubuntu Edgy, but this is tested on Dapper!

[Bug 51021] Re: Pager doesn't retain configuration

[Bug 67120] Re: [KDE 3.5.5] Device labels are not correctly displayed on desktop

2006-11-08 Thread Eduard Ereza Martínez
Sincerely, I just can't understand why media:/ is being changed to
/media in Kubuntu. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuKDEMedia

Wouldn't it be better if all worked using the media:/ location like it
was doing in 3.5.4, but, in order to get the real location on the
location bar, only one thing should be changed: when clicking on a
device in media:/ or in the desktop, it should open the real location
(for example, if "My CD-ROM" appeared on media:/, when clicking it
should open /media/cdrom0 instead of media:/cdrom).

Or at least, keep the media:/ system until the patch works exactly like
it, and correctly.

[Bug 71678] Re: Shutdown from KDE ends in black screen

2006-11-15 Thread Eduard Ereza Martínez
I am having the same problem here, on a Toshiba Satellite A110-180. When
shutting down / rebooting from KDE, the only thing I get is a black screen, and
the computer stops there.
If I end the session in KDE and then in KDM I choose the shutdown / reboot
option, it shuts down / reboots perfectly.

If you need any info (like a hardware list), I will be glad to help you
;)

BTW, this happens on a clean Edgy install.

[Bug 72216] Usplash sometimes hangs during shutdown/reboot and displays strange characters

2006-11-17 Thread Eduard Ereza Martínez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usplash

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110-180, with an Intel 945GM graphics card. When
choosing to shutdown, reboot or even suspend (hibernate is not affected) in
KDE, sometimes the screen gets black and the computer hangs. It shuts down or
reboots correctly if I end the KDE session first and then shutdown/reboot in
KDM. Also works if doing it via console (shutdown -h now), but I prefer using
the KDM method since it shuts down KDE properly.
Some of these times, when shutting down, the screen gets black, then fades to
white, green and then purple, like if it got corrupted, and then goes black
again.
When shutdown works (I haven't been able to reproduce a way in which shuts down
and another in which it doesn't), Usplash displays for some seconds a grey
screen or a grey screen full of "é" characters, and then displays the progress
bar correctly.

All these issues are gone if I disable the "splash" option in GRUB. Then
the computer always shuts down, reboots and suspends correctly,
independently from the method used.
