[Bug 324799] Re: [CHIPSET] cannot connect to (ENCRYPT_METHOD)

2009-02-23 Thread Eddie Kovsky
Thanks for your response.

The reason I asked is because it wasn't clear from your initial report
if you could connect to a wireless network at all. I wanted to be sure
the problem was with the network applet and not because Network Manager
was providing poor information to the applet.

to report bugs effectively"

if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

[Bug 328486] Re: automatically add keys when whitelisted for apturl

2009-03-03 Thread Eddie Kovsky
Siegfried-

Thank you for your feedback. I'm fairly new to triaging bugs and am
still learning my way around.

However, I'm unclear on some of your suggestions. To begin with, I never
indicated that this idea should be banned. I posted the brainstorm
response because I thought (based on QA procedures
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToTriage#Feature%20Requests ) that the
report sounded like a feature request and by marking it as such the
package team could see the report and be in a better position to
evaluate it.

When I started working on this bug report the status was set to new and
I saw no indication that anyone had begun working on it. Colin may have
been working with the application's developer, but I had no way to know
that based on the information in this report. Again, following the
triage procedure, I left my stock response and then left a note on
#ubuntu-bugs asking someone on the Bug Control Team to review this bug
and change the status to Wishlist.

Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes. I was just trying to stick to the
guidelines set in the Bug Squad KnowledgeBase.

[Bug 276848] Re: sound driver problem in ubuntu 8.04

2009-02-12 Thread Eddie Kovsky
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How
to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Also, it would be helpful to know what processor architecture you are
using and the version of the installed sound driver.

Thanks!

Hi Vitaly-

Could you tell me what filesystem are you using? Also, are you able to
reproduce the error with the same results?

Thanks
-Eddie

I set up a private directory using encryptfs-setup-private (version
69-0ubuntu2) and could not reproduce the error.

Jaunty 9.04, kernel 2.6.28, ext3
