During process, errored as follows...

Unable to find expected entry commercial/binary-i386/Packages in Meta-
index file (malformed Release file?)

Verified network connectivity and name resolution. Manually wg(o)t the

it...no listing for commercial/binary-i386/Packages

[Bug 150561] package base-files 4.0.0ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: read error on stdin at conffile prompt

2007-10-08 Thread Ed Fisher
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: base-files

daily adept-notifier updates failed, strg-digimon crashed but could not report
crash, cited obsolete packages as listed next.
did sudo apt-get upgrade poppler-utils, lsb-base, libxml2, libdbus-1-3,
libx11-data, dbus-x11, libx11-6, ncurses-bin, libpoppler2, libncurses5,
libbz2-1.0, x11-common, libdb4.4, fontconfig-config, dbus, libfontconfig1.

Prompted that it would install additional packages and the anticipated
disk space...I did not observe whether base-filesX was in that list or
not.

most went in fine, prompting to replace/keep conf as appropriate, then
reported unsuccessful base-files4.0.0ubuntu5.

2007-08-24 Thread Ed Fisher
Hi!

I attempted the install again (using Adept.) This time it installed fine
for me...if there is any specific information you would like to have, just
let me know. I will try it again tonight on my home machine, which
experienced the same issue as the office machine from which I filed the bug,
and let you know the results.

Thanks!
Ed

[Bug 110236] [apport] soffice.bin crashed with SIGSEGV in SwDBTreeList::SwDBTreeList()

2007-04-26 Thread Ed Fisher
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Accessed a webpage using Swiftfox. Copied text from a web page (just text, my
online resume on my web page, no scripts or other coding, not even any
graphics,) opened OpenOffice word processor, attempted to paste text,
OpenOffice crashed with the warning that it would recover the document.
Upon automatic restart, whether choosing to recover the unsaved document or
cancel, OO crashed continuously. This repeated even after I tried to kill the
pid at the command line. Kill-9 did not work either. I finally had to do a
'shutdown now -f' to shutdown Kubuntu.
Upon reboot, Crash handler launched.
